Freakshow breeding?

Yes Sir,
“what would be the use of out breading with a male Freakshow at all?”
$$$ M o n e y $$$
That’s why I did what I did, had over one hundred beans bred like that with several moms ,
zero showed up.
So I went with bigger numbers, but they did show then.
Did you see where Humboldt or another big name had a 10,000 bean pop pheno hunt a while back?

Hello @Crawlin-Bear63 I did see the Humboldt mega hunt.
So in a pack of male Freakshow out cross of 12 seeds, there is less than 1% chance of getting the Freakshow mutation to carry on to the offspring?

I don’t know enough about the percentages. I understand Mendel’s law because of highschool but Pollen uses a “Punnit square” or it sounds like that. I don’t plan any more breeding.

Well. I’m about to find out what the breeding results are of a freakshow-looking male, with some sister plants, from the same father Pineapple Express.

Yeah. I hit that trait, and that jagged edge leaf, and the mini leaflets, and they’re all rolled together, and brother & sister plants. collecting seeds now.

this image can be found on the linked page.

a couple things to note: female freak carriers will have no identifying marks so we know they are carriers vs non-carriers. it’s all random chance…
&
the scenario we are looking for is the bottom situation - affected female and unrelated male. all males will become affected and all females become carriers. this is why the f2 generation is capable of throwing out males with the xx-linked mutation.

cool stuff.
@Tao - with an affected male you’re looking at the top scenario - affected male and unrelated female. as you can see only the females become carriers and there’s no way of knowing which the carriers are since they will look like regular cannabis. hope this gives a good perspective of what’s going on.

@synapse57 - many wishes well on your project! i’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for with enough seeds sprouted. it’s easy to see that you’ve got the makings ^^ be prepared to find some wild phenos.

@irrepairable-vessel - no thanks necessary i’m just a copycat from somewhere else on the internet  i’m glad you have a female freak too!

Plants don’t breed like people and cannabis tends to ignore mendels inheritance from time to time.
This is a little better but again cannabis has a mind of its own at times.

Here are some papers on the subject more recent then the cannabis breeders bible.
