Freakshow Collective Seed Run [CLOSED]

Honestly I’m the kind of guy who thinks an auto is an disgrace, i had my runs on autos and i have some different Siberian ascension seeds and I don’t think I’ll be interested on this,

What would be the aim? Make an auto looks a bit funky? (if someone achieves that)
Make the “freakshow” weak? ,
Working on a Auto is a hell of work behind, isn’t going to be just cross some random auto and get it done, to get the best of both worlds, you will need at least 5 to 7 runs , pop hundreds if seeds at once to get maybe 3 individuals that may be auto and some weird structure from each filial generation at least during the very third one , and after that, keep crossing until desired treats are found and continuously showed in the next generations…

Who’s going to be the brave ??

Well up here where the days are a lot longer than 12 hours in summer  it’s the only real outdoor option.

May sunrise is 530, sunset 930… September you’re coming back to 7am to 8pm but frost has already repeatedly hit by then definitely don’t have 30-60 days more growing season.

But even a 90 day auto… You’d be able to get something.

Heard a podcast a few days ago…apparently the new autos are pretty serious. Mephisto was mentioned. I currently have a big yield auto and it’s pretty crystally, even for being 40ish days old. The old autos used the “ryder” as a starting point to make different autos…Ryder’s are bunk…they said autos now have been worked pretty well and can be fairly stable.
The big yield auto I mentioned says 22% thc is possible.

17 popped…think I planted 11 this morning. Slept in past my usual wakeup time.

.
.
The others that weren’t quite ready are going to be checked on tonight and tomorrow morning.
I have never seen this though…some mold or something on 3 of the seeds that didnt pop. I’ve used this method for years and have never seen this.

.
The description said they expect a 90% germination rate…we hit 17 out of 20…so 85% isn’t horrible I suppose. But wtf is that mold?

The spores should have already been there… but our hands are pretty yucky, thats why it’s always a good idea to wash hands etc.

Send the breeder an email…

My buddy has grown out 4 or so strains of Mephisto gear and all of it has seriously been legit good. If you were passed it and didn’t know it came from an auto you wouldn’t think it did. I had to turn around and order a few mephisto/nightowl packs for myself.

That is some crazy looking mold on those couple seeds, I’ve never seen that happen before! Nice on the 85% germ tho, already off to a good start ^^

If its mycelium will that hurt the seedlings??

I dont know muchabout good and bad fungus

It’s no fungus mycelium. It’s mould. Usually not a good sign…

Could be why there advertised as 90% germ

Either way 17 is a great number to work with

I didnt even think of that…I’ll give it a try and see what they say.

I’m thinking of doing the same!

I thought it was good…not bad for paper towel to soil in 2 days.

Yeah, the black, furry type of mould. I was reading real quick, and it’s more than likely something that hitched a ride on the seeds themselves. Bad, bad, bad.

Agreed!! Just waiting for the new light. 3-4 business days was advertised and I put the order in last saturday…tracking says the label was created, but hasn’t been picked up or dropped off. Typical marshydro style with the fucking around…lol

Here we go…17 in soil. Did 11 this morning…the other 6 still had helmets on, so left them in the paper towel. They were good to go this evening.

The light coloured cotyledons must be genetic like the ghostly seeds.

.
Temporarily using a 50 watt cxb3590 3500k and a 30w 5000k Taiwan cob for the time being.
Marshydro is dragging their feet with the frigging light. Would have just paid the extra $15 and ordered from Amazon to get it in 3 days. I remember the Mars rep saying here on OG, that if you dont buy the light from the marshydro website, they will not honour the warranty…so…I dunno. Dammit anyway. It’ll get here.

Finally.

I read in OG never picking seeds with your fingers, use tap water without the usual 24 hours so the chlorine will remain and disinfect, finally also some drops of peroxide … :sunglasses:

Agreed. If the seed shells and membrane have hardened and you try to separate them forcefully, you’re just asking for problems. A good soak and everything slips right off.
That’s a good tip for impatient newbs. “I see a root, but the shell is still on…I’m just gonna * crack * …shit!” …lol

I think that what makes the difference is that we have tons of seeds and never mind if we lose one … frech|nullxnull

@Tappy, it looks as though you got to experience pre-emergence damping off fungi on a seed coat. That is no bueno! Always pre soak seeds in H2O2 to destroy any infection/fungi on the seed coat that may keep the seed from sprouting or contracting damping off fungi… there are many types of fungi that cause damping off.

That is probably Rhizoctonia solani keeping that seed from germinating. Rhizoctonia has similar symptoms to pithium, however, it is the main fungi that prevents seed germination

I’ve actually been looking for h2o2 for my carnivorous plants…but because everyone needs 100 gallons of h2o2 since coronavirus, haven’t been able to find a drop.

Edit: I was one of those shell pullers up until not long ago…I think it was @George who told me to put a drop or 2 of distilled water on it and the shell will release.

I think it was Meesh saying that if you pulverize the shell with distilled water it softens and helps the plant breaking it (don’t tag as I am not sure ). LabRat spoke about the peroxide and finger picking in this thread.

As you see, all my recently acquired knowledge is borrowed from others … frech|nullxnull

EDIT: Finally solved your avatar meaning, thought you liked indicas … search|nullxnull
