I do a rinse bucket, a 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup lemon juice bucket, then 2 more rinse buckets (5 gallons) . You can use hydrogen peroxide if you are worried about mold. It kills it.
Agitate well, I only leave in the baking soda /lemon juice for a minute. I think the peroxide is 30 seconds, if memory serves me. @repins12 @Seamonkey84
I use three 5 gallon buckets of room temperature water. In the first bucket I add 1 cup of baking soda, in the second bucket I add 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1 cup of lemon juice, and in the third bucket I use just plain water.
Hey Pops. You came to right spot.
The youngsters and old timers will team up and get you some fine flowers in no time.
Try some soil pots too just for giggles.
Stay cool.
Wasps are great predators. Especially the European Paper wasps. I’ve learned to love those guys. They’re actually sort of social in a way. I spent the last couple of years watching them at this property. They eat aphids and anything on the plant. Don’t kill wasps. Put a bucket of water nearby and watch them come to drink, like horses. They seem to love cannabis plants and the pests that try and move in there, heh. And, they provide excellent stoner entertainment.
Oh yeah I sit out there with them hang out while tending to the ladies. I’ve haven’t had major bug problems really. If I’m not on guard the aphids will hit quick here.
oh?
(off to google Sundew plants now) never heard of these, but I think I really like this idea. Do you just grow them in the tent with the cannabis plants?
My gnats have been almost zero since I switched to coco recently, but my indoor spinach is still using soil, and the fungus gnats have been showing up this week…
I grow them alongside other carnivores plants and house plants. I do my cannabis growing outdoors. They are really easy to grow and are living flypaper for gnats and fruitflies. 50/50 peat/perlite mix. Water with distilled water (keep wet at all times) and NEVER use fertilizer on them. Place in full sunlight and they grow like weeds.
It does sound strange and counter intuitive, but conditions outdoors are almost certainly more punishing to the bud/trichs than a gentle wash.
I am only indoors, but started experimenting with washing the harvest a couple months ago. There is still plenty of gunk indoors (just look at exhaust fan blades after a grow), and the aroma gets “cleaner” too imo - not necessarily stronger per se, but in visual terms kind of like a screen image with better resolution.
Hey Misterbee, just a quick note on the Jack Herer you sent along, for sake of interest:
The three right and left center are your JH, really doing well. Of the six one didn’t shed its shell and ended up decapitating itself, and the other I lost (it got stuck in the little indentation in the “inside/bottom” of the top, and when I opened the vial the top sprang back and the seed got catapulted across the room into a post-apocalyptic situation in on corner of my room!). Loving the four that made it through my incompetence though.
Incidentally, to the upper left is a test seed of the Purple Moby Dick S1s I mentioned, it is over a week younger than the JH, but the youngster is elbowing its way to the top, as it were. As I mentioned, I could send you a few if you want, but no worries if it is not what you’re looking for.
Aspiring breeder here, willing to accept just about anything interesting if you think it might be good breeding material, always looking for new stuff to use and always try to return the favor!
Unfortunately, I culled the males like a week into flower because I was observing what looked like intersex traits. I wouldn’t have been able to carry it out, regardless, because I got spider mites and wouldn’t have been able to try and manage the infestation with that many plants–even with just six, it’s tricky and some mornings there are signs I am losing ground, but I can usually push them back.
I have some Tangerine Dream I crossed with a Brothers Grimm C-99
