Clearly dug up even though soil was still loose enough to just pluck the clone out. No marks at all on remaining plant. Just a 6” deep trench on one side of hole.

If you are growing with organic nutrients like bone, blood or fish meal, you will get all kinds of animals, digging your plants up.
Sounds like you have something in the ground they like the smell of.

Used a 50/50 coco loco , happy frog, no blood meal because I heard animals will be attracted. We’ll see how the Panama does today with a cage around it. Can I put pepper or something to keep them from digging. Have a litter of fox in the woods have a feeling it’s the kits.

If it is, start saving your urine in a 2 litre bottle…yes, your urine. Let it stand 2 - 3 days in the Sun, pour it around the perimeter of your plot, MOST animals will be deterred. If not, try scattering moth balls, the ammonia smell really puts them on the run. Good luck, keep at it.

When I first moved here I had a couple of plants outside in pots. I just up potted one and used a fish based liquid fert and molasses for the microbes and the next day found the pot and plant dragged across the yard with the plant out of the pot about halfway. I figured it out that it was my bear.
The smell of fish and molasses together was just too much. He had already been raiding my bird feeder for the sunflower seeds. It’s definitely something to consider here. Lots of critters.
