Chapter 1, Paragraph 1 - We Meet

It was a brisk autumn day when I first met Martha. I was winding down the cobblestones of an alleyway between a butcher and a habberdashery thinking to myself we simply must do something about this antiquated pathway. My feet and knees aching at the uneven stride they reduced me to. As I exited this tunnel of tendon terrors I spotted her. Brown hair and fair skin adorned with spectacles that harkened back to a time where those damned cobblestones would have still made sense.

Chapter 1 Paragraph 2 - We Meet

My gaze met hers and a smile began to form upon my wearied face. She was aware of my presence but uninterested, or at least far more interested in the book perched in her gloved hands. I thought to myself I must hear her voice, for surely it must be the voice of an angel to be produced by such a lovely creature. I pondered how to break the ice but knew it must be deeper than a passing pleasantry. I wish to speak at length to this vision I see before me, to probe her mind and feel her energy as it exited her beautiful mouth.

I decided it would be best to ask her about her book, surely that would stir some good conversation! So I made my way over to the bench see sat upon, somewhat timidly I may add, and as casually as possibly I said “what is that book that seems to have you enraptured you so Madam? In the sweetest voice I have ever heard in my life she said simply " Free 5 pack of Secret Dragon to whoever calls dibs first”
