Very few movies touch the book IMO.

Always watch the movie first. If you read the book first you will likely be disappointed but if you watch the movie first the book will give you new parts to the story.

edit… written in 1979, so 42yrs. I got it almost immediately. I was a voracious Sci-Fi reader.

Yeah, more if you can, lol. I remember reading all of Tom Clancy’s stuff and than they made a bunch of PG movies out of them, such a disappointment.

The Foundation trilogy
with the follow up of Foundation and Empire
Stranger in a Strange Land (grok?)
The Dune Trilogy
and of course
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
amongst the many I’ve read over the years.

I’m waiting for Stranger In a Strange Land to come out in movie!!

Maybe someone wants to start up a trivia thread. I see people win and then decline the prize - stating they are just playing for fun. If you are (only) in it for the fun, perhaps play for useless points or something else fun. Bragging rights for the most correct answers every week / fastest response or just plain old fun! This could easily be put in the smoker’s lounge. Just an idea…

Yeah, I am sadly going to have to set rules when I do those going forward. While it’s all in good fun when people do that it makes a mess of the giveaways.

Folks, nobody needs to be sorry and nobody did anything wrong. We are all just having fun. Dont stop doing your thing, we shall just come up with some ways to keep everyone involved while being less confusing. Its also not one person, it’s happened many many times. It’s really not something anyone needs to feel bad about.
