Getting setup for a fem seed run

Hey folks, I am looking into making a fem seed run, and I need some advice on setup and timing. If there is a good guide, could you point me there? Thanks.

Once I chop these last few plant in the next couple of weeks, i will have an empty 2x4 tent or two until my home remodel is done.
I have this really nice cut of red hot cookies i keep growing and figured i should self it to get more seeds. And, since i have a horde of clones from the last run, I can drop that pollen on them too. Strain wise, I could also try to pop my last Fem Tikal seed and try to reverse that instead…let me know if you have an opinion.

Questions:
Can I run two tents in the same large room with different selfed females…or is this a bad idea?

The recieving females will vary in flowering times.
The donor female i plan to reverse flowers in under 63 days. When should I start flowering the reverse female and the rest of the females?

Is STS enough? Any recs on which to get…probably from Amazon?

What is the appropriate feed? is it different from normal flower?

Is this endeavor worth it, or am I wasting time and energy?

Is it worth popping a few beans to add more females to the mix before having flowered them to see how they are? I have a fem NL2 and SSH I could add.

Should I hold back a red hot cookies clone in case the reverse doesn’t work the first time?

Should I reverse more than one RHC clone to make more pollen?

Will solo cups work for the run?

Should I run less receiving plants?

I have 4 clones of the Red Hot Cookie donor (and 1 more kept back to save it for another run) and have one or two clones of each of these females:
Acapulco Gold BC1
Panama
Godfather OG x Mean Mug
Grassfire OG x Dominion Diesel
Alien Bubba Super Lemon Haze
Colombia Red/Thai x Purple bud
Red Hot Cookies
Big Detroit Energy x RKS
Widow Bomb Landrace
Ice cream cake
Golden Triangle
Chocolope X Kwazulu

If you have any other tips, or notice I am missing something, please let me know.

I find with reversals at least 90% if not more will have pollen disperse but it’s not clearly visible like with a reg male (clouds of dust) the best option I found was watching for the stamen to dry out mostly, they will be almost white, then I grab them and put them in a Tupperware. Take each one in between your fingers and roll them gently while holding over your buds. If you have a dark background and watch closely you will see the dust/pollen disperse, worked great for me and helped ensure each plant was hit with each male as well for best genetic diversity.

Also with the STS I found you can use too much, I think absolutely saturating everything actually inhibits the reversal somewhat, they just need enough to alter/block the hormone production, and have faith. You may think it didn’t work but it takes time to visibly see the beans forming, if your pistils are shriveled, brown etc. it most likely worked. It’s actually easier than you think, the hard part is getting at that pollen in large quantities or finding that one “dumper” you know

is the donor put into flower at the same time as the receiving females? Or, are you reversing ahead of time and then pollinating later on?

2 weeks should be ideal, if I didn’t fail on my initial applications this time the timing would be perfect, it’s not too big of a deal as you can just let them go up until they start to senesce.

I’d say about a week or two before you go to flip your female plants that are going to receive your fem pollen. Reversals take a bit longer than regular males to produce pollen. If you want some good advice on how to proceed this video is quite informative and also has an STS recipe you can follow.

Another good trick if you are doing open pollination is to either grow the females much shorter than the males or to raise up the males so the pollen falls and spreads easily throughout

rhc is stretchy, but i might have to put up on bucket on something.

When I used STS I sprayed the plant twice over 4 days before putting it into flower. I put it into flower at the same time as its sisters. Sprayed again 3 times in flower over 1 week. After 30-35 days of flower, pollen was dropping. This was perfect, as the sister plants were throwing pistils like crazy and ready for pollen. About 5-6 weeks after pollenation, your seeds will be ready.
Day 30 flower…day 35 since first spray

my donor plant looks harvestable with red hairs at f35. Should I change up things from you did?

This is it at f39…

You might be too far along…those flower super fast…lol

no, that’s just a clone I have in flower…that run ends in about 2 weeks or so. i have 5 more cuttings/clones of that in solos.

You’ll be good then. Spray your decided female to reverse couple times, 1week before flower. But now I see what you’re saying…might be good to put the sprayed one in flower a week or 2 earlier, as others said. :+1:…just to be safe.

That’s n amazingly fast flower…what strain?..red hot cookies? Very nice!

Likely a bad idea.

A few weeks apart wouldn’t hurt. Then you would know if your reversal took.

Absolutely. But I’d make your own.

I can say for certain that this works.

Seeded plants tend to like more N.

Of course. It’s fun!

Not a bad idea.

If you want to spread the genetic diversity as much as possible or to collect pollen for storage, yes.

Yes, but will need extra attention.

Entirely up to you. Depending on the size of the pollinated plants, there could be tons of seeds.

I’m sure I’ll think of more. Hope this helps!

thanks dude. i’m really looking forward to this. the cut i’m reversing has a lot of good traits. only bad ones are it’s a bit stretchy and yield is low. most of the stuff i have is stretchy, but their yields are good. however, none are as spectacular looking as this one. anyway, hopefully it reverses. I stress tested it and it never hermed. light stress for weeks, tent over 106f during flower, low ph feeds, high ph feeds, low nutes, high nutes…it doesn’t matter. it is female.

oh, yes, red hot cookies from sweet seeds. i got pretty lucky on that seed pop. this could go to market before 56 days. I prefer it at f62 though.

Have you made any seeds with that girl? That is an incredibly fast harvest time!

I gave a cut to a guy in town who hit it with BMR from Doug. It worked. I’ll see about getting some beans from him.

I wanted fem seeds, hence the reversal. If some one was going to do something cool with, I am willing to share cuts. the smoke is really nice. I can smoke it everyday…and, if you have seen my grows it should be obvious, I don’t like smoking the same bud too often. So, this one is quite special. It’s uplifting and social, not an opioid replacement. Tangie, tropical, floral and sweet skunk…maybe a slight ethnic food in there somewhere. The terps are strong even at the end of a j.

The turnaround time is amazing. How’s the yield? I’m sure you could pack a sog and get savage results.

ya, the yield is not the best. the average is 50g, but it gives 40 to 45g. Blueberry muffin gets 30g or so which is my lowest. My max yield on a plant in this setup was 72g with anything over 2oz being pretty good. i’ve pressed it. it presses average at 16/17pct in range from 13 to 27pct yield. it’s super terpy and hard to deal with.
