That’s because they expected two people in the audition tape.
I was, but not the old ones with a single, large 16"(?) sanding disc that attaches to a central arbor. And not a random orbital, those were static. The ones I was alluding to have four smaller discs, maybe 8" in diameter, set out in a square pattern. I think the discs were about 1/2" apart. The overall footprint of the two styles was about the same.
I can’t remember where I read this article about them. It was at least 30 years ago. Maybe not hot off the presses news any more. HA! The gist of it was they’re supposed to be easier for non-professionals/newbies to use than traditional sanders. The article must have included a discussion of belt sanders. I just don’t remember that part. Belt sanders go back further than orbitals.
I was always too afraid of floor sanders to use one myself. One of a very limited number of remodel type jobs I always farmed out.
Maybe this one you’re talking about. You put 3 6" discs in the bottom. Other than that I have no idea.
Like I said, it was a long time ago that I read that article. That three disc sander is probably the tool discussed.
As I was describing the tool, I had questions about the “edges” created by the space between the discs and how exactly those would be dealt with. Three discs makes much better sense. Thank you.
I love refinishing hardwood floors. I never made a professional go of it, but have done it for some friends. The 4 disc was the second sander I used, but it doesn’t touch the old oil paint they painted the borders with before dropping a Persian rug down so we ended up with a drum sander.
It’s definitely a job I could do on the daily.
While my job is a pretty good job to be high at I find it makes the day take too long. Depends on the day.
On the plus side I only work 8 months out of the year. So i have 4 months to collect unemployment like a bum and do what ever the fuck i want; like sit in Over grow all day. Dink life.
I live in the burbs 20 miles from NYC. I do in-store landscape layouts and designs. Water trees, shrubs, and perennials. Do all the basic bitch regular employee shit of a family owned business. (not my family lol)
So I didn’t imagine it! The three disc sander is a different unit altogether. Cool. Thank you.
Yeah I went through my pics quick I didn’t take a pic after the first sander failed on the paint. The 4 disc was no better. We finally grabbed the drum sander. I was so afraid I’d ruin my buddies floor with the drum I tried every other option first.
Yeah, I don’t believe they’re made to sand up to a hard edge. The case essentially acts as a bumper. A drum or perhaps a belt sander would be the only tools I could think of that would really do the job.
depending whats the type of high the sky is the limit
true true, we wold take a lot of adderal at the brewery. You can work hard and drink all day.
Lunch doob ruined!
Chef, high as fuck all day long. Its the only thing that takes the pain away. Lolol
