First day outside I’ll check on them latter right now a bowl of blue dream and fresh strawberries,! I know they look wimpy but that’s 400 gal bag. a20240521_100044|375x500
Planted in the big bags early this morning the wind yesterday whipped these little lady’s,
but they liked it. just a small handful of Bio - Sol organic fertilizer mixed with the soil in each hole. They seem to like my feeding schedule 33 cc of Mendicino 6 - 30 - 30 Bloom - Flower every other watering. I finished these clones on 15 cc same bag every watering. Now 3’ 6" and healthy green I think it’s time to start nets before big birds start landing on the little branches. I hope everyone is off to a good start Happy Growing.
High 90s last few days lots of plain water today and started netting. Also, I gently started spreading branches.
Roughly how much water per plant? Looking good, SS/BW…mister
Just a guess about 20 gallons now but will increase as needed.
I’m at my legal limit now I was gifted a few Silver Haze Clones two in the big bags. And one in the Greenhouse to see if she can handle the heat.
The girls are growing about an inch a day and starting to get round and fat. The silver Haze I was Gifted has grown about 6 inches in 8 days and the tops have split. I just checked the Silver Haze in the green house at 110 degrees she loves it. Happy Growing20240623_083249|375x500
Looking forward to seeing them get huge, for sure.
How come you don’t mulch? Just curious.
Looking good @gramps!
I never have used mulch in the bags they don’t need it. The plants shade the bowl and stay moist mulch just gives a place for insect’s too hide we don’t use mulch around the vegetables either. We water everyday early in the morning and harvest more than we can eat or smoke lol. When the temps get above 90 degrees we might get a dry crust late in the day, but everything makes it through the night. And it’s a lot easier to weed without mulch and easier to spot snakes resting in the shade.
Thinking about mulch we have Purslane growing under our plants
is best known as a weed. However, it is also an edible and highly nutritious vegetable.
In fact, purslane is loaded with all sorts of nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids.
Have you considered cover crops? Living mulch, whatever you wanna call it, with the clover and stuff? It might just be an even better home for the snakes haha, but people seem to like it.
In my neighborhood It’s always been 4 feet high by the 4th of July your good. I’m a little better the girls are happy with nothing but water during this heat spell 104 degrees yesterday.
Second layer of ag net just draped on for now and zip tied on the 20240522_084201|375x500
