Grow light controller setup (Mammoth)

Picked up this light controller to control my uva/b light, and possibly my mars, and am kind of confused.

I always figured these were mounted outside of the tent, but the sensor port is plugged. Does it go inside of the tent?

Some of the controllers like that have a magnetic strip in them. I know ac infinity controllers do. I would imagine your supposed to have a sensor for your controller that came with it? I had to manually mount my growers choice controller just some velcro straps cut to size worked really nice it’s never fell

There are two different models they offer, i think the optional sensor is built in because it has a reading on the screen already. It came with hardware. Let me check if its magnetic.

So if the sensor is built in i imagine it goes on the inside of the tent?

I was reading up on it as well and the sensors might be built in on that model so I would assume it needs to be inside the tent but I’m gonna do some further research

I just hooked it up for a trial run. Dont have everything set up yet. I need a RJ45–>RJ14 adapter to integrate my main light.

This shit is so bad for your eyes. I wasnt even looking at it and my eyes are still strained. I have to get some glasses

Yeah thay UVB is brutal on your eyes. They say not to be under it either because 5 minutes can give you wicked sunburn. First time I hooked up my California lightworks UVB I was looking at them while plugging then up. Saw a bar in my vision for like a good 5 minutes I was like yep never again will I look into the UVB light lol. UVA is much more mild

I have to tinker with it to see if i can just do uva for now, i dont think im supposed to use uvb until after bulk. I emailed mammoth and ordered an external temp/humidity sensor to run inside of the tent. Dont like the idea of an LED screen being in the tent, dont want it coming on during lights out

Yeah it’s for the last few weeks of flower. This is what California solarworks says on my lights

The lack of info on that controller is ridiculous I’ve been searching all over and can’t find a thing. I would email the manufacturers of it and see if they can’t provide you with any info and maybe persuade them to add the video to their YouTube for future people asking questions

Its a high quality light but yeah there is a shortage of information for sure. Someone a little more tech savvy may have a better idea of how to use it, but im a little late to the game as far as this goes

@Stokes so I zoomed in on the picture and it really looks like there is a black plug in the sensor port because the other 2 have plugs in the RJ ports. If that’s the case you can mount it on the outside and you should have a sensor cord with it. This picture is from their website and it shows the sensor port should be open for a cord to go in

Let me know how you end up liking that controller. I have two Mammoth emerald green series lights. I was considering buying a 3rd and using this controller.
