Grow tent divider

I recently decided to build my own divider for my 4x8 grow tent after realizing there aren’t many options on the market. My goal was to split the tent into two 4x4 sections for different light cycles and setups.

For the divider, I used insulation board designed to handle high temps and moisture. To make it more reflective, I wrapped it in some Mylar sheets I found on Amazon for $5. Some people raised concerns about the divider not being light or air-tight, but after securing everything with some heavy-duty tape, I’ve found it to be quite light-proof!

I tested it by running an old-school grow light (which generates more heat) on one side, and it was noticeably warmer on that side. I haven’t had to use any humidity control gear since my home naturally sits at an optimal 60%

RH.

What do you all think? Do you think this setup will hold up long-term? I’ll keep you updated if I need to tweak anything, especially if humidity becomes a factor down the line.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and advice!

It may or may not but Amazon and other retailers offer 3 in 1 and 2 in 1 tents but obviously you’re trying to save money and use what you have so prob not interested. I’ve found through the years that most genetics and strains can handle flowering when it’s not perfectly dark so should be fine. In fact I have like 5 currently mid flower just chilling in bedroom with mostly darkness and little residual light but no herms or issues

That looks like a very workable solution.
The only thing that comes to mind is ventilation. I think treating it as two separate systems will work but I wouldn’t do any breeding project in it as the divider won’t be pollen tight. If you can manage light tight you are in business :+1:

Looks good. Infact, Ive been thinking on doing something similar with a 4x8 that I have. So, when I do, Ill prob follow your lead.

Btw, cant tell what you used, but foil tape is pretty sticky, and its reflective. If did both sides with that, it would be pretty sealed.

Great job dude, that should do the trick! Light leaks are easy to nail down, you can always just patch anything with aluminum foil tape. Let’s grow these nugs yo!

Looks pretty good to me! Funny, I just did the opposite and took down the divider in my two-in- one tent to get some more flowering space lol!
