Has anyone blocked half their tent for flower and veg? 4x4

I have half my tent taken up with a few plants but plan on blocking the other half with some kind of wall or partition so I can run one side 12/12 for flower and the other 16/8 for veg and seedlings. I am looking to do it cheaply, so I thought maybe some black plastic with tape all the way around would work, but I wonder how to seal up the cracks by the door. Does anyone have a system or setup that seems to completely block light from one side to the next? Thanks in advance for your replies

you could maybe use the adhesive zippers for the sides? or velcro?

discount hardware stores also probably have some tarps you could use to separate cheaper than a home depot or something

One of my tents is from @VIVOSUN they have a divider down some of their models. Just a Mylar sheet with Velcro that you attach. I think you could replicate it pretty easily, works totally fine use half for veg half for flower.

Yea I divided my tent in half, my 4x8 had a bar in the middle of the tent and a zipper for each side so I just used panda film to separate down the middle

Thanks for the suggestions, all good ones. I worry that light will get in around the front where it meets the door. I can see Velcro working pretty well. I was thinking maybe magnet strips but I doubt they would work 100%. I could see adhesive zippers as an option too…

Panda film was the first thing I thought of too. Like a double layer with the black sides together so each “tent” gets a white reflective side.

Yea exactly how I did it, worked great

Yeah that could work because it is semi rigid. With my wood frame and hanging spots on the ceiling I may need to box in the space a little which that would work for. I don’t live close to a hardware store though, I may need to order some

Probably be easier/cheaper to purchase a tent that already has “compartments” for micro grows ie mom section, clone section and then a flower chamber

Sell the tent you have now for two smaller tents?

What size space we talking about?

I only have space for a 4x4. It would be a big job to replace it with 2 2x4 tents. I doubt less expensive

The thick panda folm is pretty stiff, you can add a 1 by 2 board across for some support

If I had to do this I would try and make a frame, stretch the panda/mylar film across it and put something in the gaps where the hand made wall meets the tent.
the reason I say a frame is to keep the edges light tight.
The tricky part is getting the panda film to stay on the frame.
You may be able to get away with something like 2 poles one on each end if you need to stay on the cheap.
If you used a PVC frame I think they make clips for that or look at stuff to keep tarps stretched tight.
That is what I pictured when you asked the question.

Good luck

Good suggestion. No matter what I am always trying to go cheap, so duct tape will almost definitely be used lol.

I put that shit on everything…LOL

It looks soo ghetto but works soo good. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I knew a guy that put bumper stickers over rust holes and painted over them.
It was fuckin’ amazing, when he drove by you could not tell.

Lol true that, and if I want to get ‘fancy’ duct tape I slurge and buy Gorilla tape. Oolala haha.
Oh man, that reminds me of when my dad had big rust holes on his minivan, he used spray foam topped with electric tape covered in paint to pass inspection. You could kind of tell, but it did pass
