Just amazed at all you do with such limited space, truly impressive
I am setup like the one on the left in the picture. As a former hvac and refrigeration tech i did not do the work but have been schooled to use the draw instead of push method as more efficient. My fan sits at the end of the pipe where they have purified air shown though.
The pic on the right is not intake with the direction of the air at the filter. It would go in at the filter and draw into the tent. It would be a āpushā thru the canister though if the airflow direction arrows are as intended and I suppose the air is intake to the filter.
For me the intake air should be the air that is entering the flower tent to replace the exhaust and so it is incorrectly labeled.
I have been admiring your growing since I joined up, looked at your previous thread too, but I think that pic of the whole closet that your grow is built into is THE most impressive of all.
Itās easy to imagine your grow chambers being bigger than they actually are, especially when looking into only one chamber with only a plant for scale, but seeing the whole closet really puts it into perspective!
Very nice workmanship on that, and SUPER STEALTH!!!
Yeah for the current setup stealth was a decent consideration mind you it was before legalization when I built this iteration , though even now old habits are hard to change so I donāt really plan on being ānon stealthyā in the future and low to no smell is important to keep the lady happy.
Size though I always want more grow space and there are some efficiency things I can see where changes could be warranted, just a matter of if I want to go through a full rebuild to facilitate that when this all works.
@Mr.Sparkle, for someone with your knowledge and expertise, itād be a flick of a coin for you to turn a room, a tent, a āsimple cubeā into a powerhouse! Looking forward to seeing that unfold!
Was redoing the sizing on my hex seed shippers and trying some different sized options yesterday like a larger friend/growbud pack size and a smaller sample pack size, and had some printed off.
Though today after work @SaintAliasKnife gave the idea over in discord of a net back to avoid having to use an extra sticker, i though a net would be too flimsy though i could easily just print say a solid 0.25mm or so layer instead. So props to the good idea.
Saying that these have a higher chance of breakout through this layer right at the inner edges vs say a sticker which has a lateral tear strength to it though with some testing it takes a bit to do so.
So will be trying them out in the next bunch of seed saturdays as im all for simplifying things.
And here I am just qualifying again, lol. Looks great bud.
Maybe a small radius (2mm?) to transition the side to the thin bottom?
Cheers
G
looks nice. you could probably thin out the hex lightly is you made a thin rib-like link to connect the inner angles. like 2 lines inside like an X.
buzzy beeā¦lol
Another idea that I just missed, I increased the layer to .5mm though having a radiuses bottom edge will provide extra strength vs a square edge.
As for the hex size @SaintAliasKnife I did change that up last night slightly due to the thicker bottom and retaining a 4mm height as needed more room for the seeds to lay more flat, an sure could do an outer web like structure though solid is easy atm to do.
Probably something Iāll be tinkering with for awhile
Maybe you could just print a post in the middle to prevent squishing over the larger area. Likeā¦
Similar idea anyway.
Not sure that would work though without one side being solid.
well squishing isnāt the issue with these and why the solid outer edge, so far i havenāt had an issue with the open double sticker design, only thought from yesterday was you could do away with having to use two stickers if you had a print on one side which in the long run makes it more efficient to go that way.
Too much hassle for a snug, snapping close, fitting lid!? Nice work!!
As for a wednesday morning update
All of them i need to refill there reservoirs this morning, as just took a look and they probably just had there last waterings before sucking air.
So left side the Lemon Pie in the back is at that top heavy stage where im either gonna need to tie it down or turn it to allow it to prop itself against a wall, it was inevitable with the structure of it and how i had it going out to the one side.
The GRCDās i was contemplating up potting whatever mother to be though having a hard time deciding to cull the other two to do so front right was gonna be my choice which has the best structure and less apex dominance and no mutant characteristics though currently smaller but more bud sets though saying that due to root limitation that kinda expected.
So a wait and look game right now with them.
Right side moving along, pollen sacs getting big which i expect to be dropping some in the next 5 days, cinderevils are starting to stretch, GWCBDxJEM creeping along and the trizzlers needing some space. So whether a GRCD goes or the GWCBDxJem goes to facilitate that its just something ill probably leave for the weekend.
As for the recycled container plant, shes throwing out some purple hues now while continuing to bulk.
Making a lid cuts down even more on height and we are height limited for regular post, also makes the prints 50% less efficient as you have to print a top and bottom, so where i can normally fit 13 hex holders, each print i would likely only get 4-5 if they had a lid.
Stickers are cheap and easy.
wow, thats realy a fat girl for that tiny potā¦Chapeau!!
Gotcha. I thought you were implying that with the bigger pack you might have to deal with the middle being vulnerable. I got ya now. Next idea is to make a model that holds beans individually in place.
. Lol
very doable lol
so the new new with the radiused bottom inner lip.
With average seeds works out to be 7 and 14 for the two smaller sizes, bigger one is just how many i can cram in lol.
Though while on this topic there was another reason for me redoing my seed holders a little.
About a month + back i was thinking of a way of how i could turn this hobby into a self sustaining one as far as new genetic acquisition through new purchases to play with and share and to cover giveaway costs which is really minor that id been doing regardless, and though i prefer the community sourced stuff as its just so cool i was considering what could i do to help fund purchases of say those exorbitant priced genetics that you rarely see grown that i myself wouldnāt normally buy as i dont agree with the prices and typical hype around some stuff.
Saying that i setup a Ko Fi account for ācoffee donationsā as a side thing and threw a link in my profile here a month plus back though i never mentioned or advertised it apart from mentioning it right now which i would like to mention thanks again to @George for being the first to spot that link and sharing a ācoffeeā with me, i appreciate it
Now after giving all that some marinating time over the last bit another avenue that i considered was to venture over to Strainly and start offering the odd seed pack to the larger community to help fund those seed acquisitions and giveaway costs as to me its logical that whats taken from community there will be turned around and given back in more seeds and giveaways.
Though i have an ask to those that have a Strainly account and use it, i need to get some trades or buys in to get verified before i can list anything to that community, though i still need to look into all that as im new to it though if some members here are willing to do some trades whether legit or not heck i can just send some seeds and donāt need anything in return im just looking to get my count up and would appreciate it if some are willing to do so, if not well iāll just do some purchases from some vendors if i canāt get some trades in.
Anyways yeah redesign of seed holders was for thought of offering seeds over there, though ideas from @SaintAliasKnife and @Gpaw have modified them a little to the better, thanks for that.
They do look really nice! Especially the bigger one! It gives room for more beans ! lol! Congrats @Mr.Sparkle!
