Well I have a plathora of black springtails at the moment, and the fungus gnats have subsided from a combo of things so that’s good and i hope it stays that way, the springtails are more just annoying.

I feel for you so much. My battle spider mites in my mother tent is having me spray em down with Safer’s End All every few weeks, and with fungas gnats have been ongoing every winter for many of my plants (non cannabis).

Last year I started sprinkling Aquabac (tiny pellets that is impregnated with larvicide that contains Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti)) on the soil surface so it gets into the soil through waterings.

It’s also very appreciated that you are open about these problems you are having considering how marvellously intimidating your setups can be; as it shows that no matter how brilliantly design and executed any set-up is that things can and will happen.

So, Thank you @Mr.Sparkle !! :hugs:

Some feel ashamed or embarrassed to post issues and I was that way at one point, I’ve just grown to realize good or bad it’s all part of it and the only way to progressively get better is not to ignore those bad things but use them as an opportunity to learn, and by sharing someone may know some unknown knowledge to me or has tried something that I haven’t that works and we all get to learn in the process.

Shut happens, it’s how we move on from it that matters.

It’s when I am doing the same shut that I really get a bit bashful… but if you don’t post, you don’t get any help, and you don’t get any love. At least it shows how much abuse these lovely plants can take.

Kinda seperated growers from GOOd growers. I don’t think I have ever had a grow, inside or outside, where something goes upside down. The thing is to either know what to do about it or at least know where that quality information resides.
I am not in the GOOD grower category yet, but I’m working on it every day.

Day 23/13/5

Speaking of issues and talking about them, noticed some spotting and issues on the Dark Sparks and GRCD f2 looking to be phosphorus and calcium at first guess, i checked the res and the pH “6.1” was lower than i typically run so i redid it and bumped the pH up to my more normal levels of “6.35” for the res water and not to mix that up the roots zone pH as that is another thing in itself.

Now this is were its been different for me vs what others talk about as far as pH goes so quoted ideals is “5.8-6.1pH” for say soilless though anytime i run in those ranges i get a range of lockout issues saying that ones nutrient choice and medium also effects what is an ideal pH range. Im using megacrop and coco and for whatever reason anytime i drop down into that 6.15ish range or below issues start showing up, thus why i typically run higher than ideals. Why and specifics no idea as the whole nutrient nerdom is definitely my weak point knowledge and proficiency wise.

Also for this res fill i added an oxidizer to try and help reduce the springtails population by a little and any bacterial issues if any were present which i don’t think there were now i haven’t been doing this since last last year sometime, in the past i used calcium hypochlorite though only had sodium hypochlorite on hand aka bleach which works just less ideal though for an occasional event type thing it will be perfectly fine and i added at a rate of about 0.8ml per about 6 liters which is a very minor “shock level” of like 8ppm of chlorine that will dissipate quickly.

Guess we will see how they respond once i come back from holidays/longweekend of visiting some family.

Oh and the good GOC x PL was transplanted to a pot, and i moved that the grcd and one of the mix autos over onto a res in the other chamber just to get some autowatering while im away.

What is your favorite strain?

The hexagonal shape or at least the internal hex shape of them holds seeds better than say a round ones.

And like most things I don’t have a true favorite, just likes
