Handguns and firearms talk

Lol. I’m outta love already. I’ve been waking up early so I can spend more time on here. Absolutely love this site. I also had to upgrade my phone plan too. Lol.
I think federal is good. I always blamed it on my firing pin. Federal does make a kick butt sabot round for shotguns with rifled barrels

My wife’s mossberg. 243 loves it. It won’t shoot anything else accurately. My savage 30. 06 will eat anything and shoot it all pretty closely together.

Yes sir! If you ever buy a new firearm it’s always best to buy several different kinds of ammo to determine which one shoots the most accurate.
That’s especially true if your trying to dial in a shotgun for turkey hunting. My dad’s old B-80 browning shotguns did best with winchester slugs and shot shells. Remington ammo did good with them too

My marlin 17hmr has been like that. I always blamed it on the ammo, especially since cci makes rounds for all the other companies except Winchester. Well after several lots, with the problem getting worse, it turns out it’s not an uncommon issue with the earlier run of that line. As a result, I still do all my squirrel hunting with a shotgun instead of rifle. Though I do want to give my whisper pellet rifle a try.

I didn’t know that about cci. CCI is my go to round for rimfires for hunting.
I would think the 17. Would be great for small game especially if you want to hit something 150 yards out which is totally doable with one. Technically they were made to outperform a 22. Mag. Correct me if I’m wrong. They can definitely put down a deer. It’s a light bullet but devistating.
Air rifles have come along way. Now you can buy an air rifle that can take down big game out to 100 yards and some states allow it

Yea, out to 150 yards is no problem as far as accuracy, and fine for small game/varmint. People have taken out coyotes at 100yds, though not recommended as it doesn’t always make a clean kill.
The problem I have with mine is the misfires. Barely make it through a 7rd mag without one not going bang when I pull the trigger. But if I recock it, it’ll fire it. So it’s not the ammo. I’ve gotten sub MOA at 100yds with this rifle, but I can’t rely on it if I only get one shot good at a squirrel before it’s gone. Very dense up here in Maine, shotguns are a better choice anyway but I’d rather use a rifle. I agree on the modern air rifles, good ones cost as much or more than most hunting rifles, and are usually more accurate! Lots of airgun squirreling videos from the UK, where the grey squirrels are invasive (thanks to the Boy Scouts of America ). In the UK, where it’s hard to even get rimfire, the air rifles are also “Nerfed” and are regulated to how powerful they can be. So they have to be deadly accurate, head shots only.

I didn’t know they made a .50 cal. in the AR-15 style.

It’s the “cheaper” way to get a BMG, most are single shot. But yea it’s a Standard lower receiver with a bolt action upper. The lower is dedicated to it since there’s a different hammer and spring setup for the trigger. The buffer and spring are also removed from the stock, just an empty tube for the bolt to slide into. They are now sold as an FFL required piece, so even just the upper needs to be sent to a dealer.

I build all my own for the most part. Here is my 300 blackout with the law tactical folder. It’s technically a pistol but if regulations change I will get a tax stamp for it as a SBR. I run 220 grain subsonic ammo and it shoots like no other gun I own. Barely kicks and packs a huge 30 caliber round. Perfect for home defense or hog hunting. Much love!!

I had a blackout 10.5 was extremely accurate, but i sold it.

If you have one of the models they are made for grip lasers work pretty well. I personally like irons. First time you roll over and see the rear night sight looking like eyes on the night stand will wake you up fast lol

Go buy an M107A1 with a fleer scope lol the ATF will pay you a visit trust me. Guy was cool enough but it’s none of their business why I bought one. Hell I should be able to go to Costco and buy full auto, suppressors, grenade launchers, you name it I should be able to walk into any store and buy it. For far to long we as Americans have not been doing our duty as citizens by allowing our rights to be whittled away a little at a time for the illusion of a little safety. The 2A was not meant for hunting or defending yourself from another citizen, it was meant to protect citizens from government. That being the case I should have access to every weapon the us government has access to, that’s the only way the government is equal to the people. I ended selling my 50 because I had no where to shoot it. I’ve been thrown out of every range here after the first shot and if I shoot on private land the cops always show up acting like I’m some degenerate until I remind them that if I was a bad guy I would have put a round through his door, through him and his vest, through his partner and his vest and out the other side of the car, but instead dropped the mags out of all the guns on the table.
I need another home defense shot gun, got rid of the ksg because it was complete garbage.
