Maybe just break the stem and flop it over to the side, then tie it down? It will heal and right itself the best it can. Could be able to salvage a cola somewhat. Worked for me on this last go-round…
Having said that, I have also topped a cola in bloom unintentilnally and the plant is doing great and picking up weight elsewhere.
Seems like 6 of one, half dozen of the other…
Either way, I’d do it exactly in the range @toastyjakes indicated

Right on! Fortune favors the bold, right?
I’m sure the plant will not miss a beat

all good… she’ll bounce back and since its early in flower, pretty damn quick too… flopping is a different method of training that works but if you at gonna risk breaking stems on the flop you may as well cut them lol

She’s still alive and still pretty tall! I gotta say I’ve been blessed with lush foliage with little to no burns or spots or anything

Yup the other three also exploded after switching to bloom. Next time I have someone in here with me I’ll lift up from the resovoir and take a pic of the root systems. Last grow the roots kinda just hung straight down. With THIS grow the root systems are so fuckin dense and packed that they’re all square and the same shape as the inside of the resovoir! It looks like when u buy a flower to plant and u have to break up the roots a bit before u plant it, except no dirt, all roots … sorry I’m blathering on, I’m in love with my babies
