Proceed at your own risk buddy in all my experiences using unknown compost I never was good. . . I got cut worms and f*cking white flies everytime! And then it cost more time and effort than it would have if i started my own. Plus indoor you wouldn’t need nearly as much as I did. But on a good note I never had any problem with the plastic in some👍
Yeah, I dug into it a bit and there were lots of things flying out… I’m not fimilar with what’s what but it didn’t seem like the normal critters I see eating decaying matter. So needless to say I’m staying far away
you’ve recieved HOODINIs best idea of the week Badge:1st_place_medal:
A couple of tips if you have to judge compost quality without a microscope. One, good quality compost should have the color or a milk chocolate bar, not black like most of the shitty bagged compost. Second, pick it up and smell it. It should have the smell of fresh earth or like the woods after a rain. That smell is called geosin and is only produced by organism that populate properly made and aged aerobic compost. Any weird off smells could indicate the pile went anaerobic at some point during the process.
Great point @DavesNotHere I believe Dr. Elaine Ingham says 70-80 % coco chocolate if my memory serves me!
