Holy's Garden (Part 1)

My original (amended) thought was, keep the boys, grow out these 3 girls, see what herb I like the best and pollinate that one with the most similar looking male and call it a day. That’ll be the F2’s.

But I’m still debating on if I just want to choose the best male, in my eyes, and call it a day instead. Use him on whatever girl I pick and we get what we get. It’ll either reinforce the girl or give you back the spread of the F1’s with a little more influence of the chosen girl :man_shrugging: If I keep the girl I can BX the F2’s if needed in order to reinforce the chosen pheno. Planning to toss the males after pollination regardless so will get as many seeds as I can when I do it.

I’ve thought about doing 3 to 3, or better yet, 3 to 1, but I don’t have a lot of room so would likely have to pollinate branches not separate plants. That would mean a lot less seeds and 3 more plants kept around for a lot longer time. Would have to sprout the progeny and flower to see which male was best to then go back and do a proper seed-run with just those two…

Unless this is like the best herb I’ve ever had in my life, purple or not, I don’t think I’m going to bother with all that

Yeah, dude, unless you’re doing an open pollination (or unless you wanna spend a couple years on these plants), I say pick one male and run with it. No need to think about it too much.

Reminds me of my Xwife.

2 months?!?! I guess that is why you foliar fed? After 2 weeks or a bit more, mine are all shriveled up and dead.

Yes, if they yellow up on me while I’m waiting for roots I would do a light veg nute foliar feed and that would usually push them along far enough to put out roots. Now with nutes in the aerocloner, I don’t have to do that at all, they stay green and perky the entire time.

I plan to make one when I can find the proper container.

Clonex gets the ph right where you need it to also.

Gotcha, I’ve not tried using any cloning gel or aloe or anything so wasn’t aware if it helped or not. The nutes definitely helped me with PH stability as I definitely had problems in straight water only. But for clones I don’t do anything special at all, just cut off the plant, trim off all but the top node, snip the ends of the leaves, shave down the bottom inch or so of stem taking off the outer portion of the stem, and stick it in the cloner and wait. Haven’t lost anything yet, but again, it can take awhile.

This was 3 days ago

This is now:

Pretty sure she put on another foot :flushed:

These are her sisters, same nutes/ph, no flood table so only watered once a day at most.

Guess they are further from the light… but man, she is just blowing up. Triple their size.
She’s not much shorter than the NL5HSS #5 behind her.

In other news, I chopped the Purple NL2 males. Still have the clones so no worries there. Just not trying to risk pollinating my bud run. I’ll reflower the chosen male(s) for the seed-run after. Still tossed up between #3 and #6. #1 will not be used, for as purple as he is, he’s got zero frost and was the first to flower and drop pollen, which I’ve always heard you don’t want…
The #3 is still pretty frosty, slowest to drop pollen, and more resembles Purple Unicorn…
#6 is the most frosty, second fastest to drop pollen, and more resembles NL2.
The flower structure between them is damn near identical. I think I may just have to see what the bud’s like. Or just use both males for the F2’s. Looking at these pics is really making me think so.

PNL2 #3

Clonex also makes a seedling/ clone nutrient solution. I’ve been using it along with the gel for cloning. I also use it alot at work. I love it because just over the low strength and my ph is spot on.

Whatcha doing for work?

I work at a 5000 sf indoor medical cannabis grow. We have plenty of room out back as well.

It started off in rough shape, but we will get it fixed up. Too many people thought they knew what they were doing. I at least know enough to ask for help when I don’t know, sometimes…

That’s a lot of sq ft! How many lights? Very cool

@HolyAngel i laughed at the part u say “unless this the best herb I have ever smoked” haha this was my thoughts also

Lots of work 4 u here but it looks great & I think whatever u choose will do justice :seedling:

I wasn’t there when it was set up, and I never counted tbh. Thanks man.

I’m glad to know that I can string my clones along longer. The issue is that Clonex is the only “nutes” I have. I’m sure it should work if needed. I need to just build a bubble cloner.

AZOS by extreme gardening is what I use - I am not a clone pro though… But I have lost only maybe a clone or two ( I blame genetic haha!) so I consider myself a semi-pro

*edit I think the lost clones fall off the credit report in 7 years ~

I have a few more years and my score will be clean again

I have a sample pack of that. You use it in your clone water or how?

My clone game is pretty weak, but getting better.

It’s like crack cocaine 4 the plants. I powder their stems with it and much more. It’s beneficial bacterias that will help fix N to the plant/root

I also mix into water yes - very cloudy. I tell people who don’t know that I use white gatorade

Idk of Inwould go hydro with little experience!!? But hey so far everything looks GOOD! I’ve had some sprouting issues with a few new breeder’s I tried TJE past year!??? And I have 90%+ germ rate EVERYTIME I POO so idk wtf is going on? Good luck! Any ?s let me know! Can’t help on the hydro front but anything with the plant and I’ll hwlpbhowever I can!

For clones or rooted plants? I hear it’s a great bacteria.

Oh I just finished the sample pack of Azos! Great stuff! Not sure on hydro either tho. I did try it for a bit in a bubble cloner but I’m unsure if it helped or not. Again, I have to be sterile to really get anything done here so likely not for me. But when I take plants out of the cloner to be potted, that’s when I’ll sprinkle them with Azos, and they don’t skip a beat at all! No transplant shock when used. I really prefer it over Great White or Mykos. Still running tests over here.

Well, mykos is a fungi and azos is a bacteria, so try them together

I’m not sure of the benefit in Hydro either since yore already giving your plants the most available form of nutrients anyhow.
