Holy's Garden (Part 1)

Thanks! Yeah definitely exceeded what I thought it was gonna be and yeah, potency and taste are good. I need to get more quart jars. I have 4 quart jars and 4 pint jars filled 75%. Hoping they’re good to go, the stems snap, the bud feels dry but still springy. They dried for 14 days at ~65F/55RH. My books are saying they should stay in paper bags or cardboard boxes for like a month at ~65/50 before I ever put them in jars but I don’t really wanna do all that and I don’t wanna mess up the bud.

Nice, 14 days is a nice slow dry for sure. They’re def good to put in jars now, just open them every couple days or so the first while to keep an eye on them. They shouldn’t feel wetter or drier day to day then you can seal them more long term.

Great! That’s kinda what I figured and definitely what I was hoping for… I’ve grown 15 plants or so but this is the first time I’ve ever really harvested by myself and was able to do a proper dry and whatnot. Thanks ^^

In other news… seems 420ppm’s are a bit too much, ph/ppms are rising and starting to get tip burn on the lower leaves so I swapped out a gallon of water in each tote. Down to 360ppms. Will check it again in a couple hours and go from there. I originally figured 400ish would be fine compared to the godberry at a similar height and size, but I guess since these started in soil that they’re not accustomed to that much nutes at once. Should pull through here as soon as I find what they like though.

Had to redo the reservoirs. This time I went with only 1ml/gal of AquaFlakes A+B for now. Bout 300ppm with my tap water, everything else the same…

Also had to lower the lux a bit as the leaves are tacoing and I know its not mag deficiency. Seems the rspecs are a bit stronger than the 4k boards, or just the change in spectrum is doing a number on em…

Starting to get new roots, hopefully they’ll start exploding in growth here in another day or two. Kinda wish I just waited to get clones first to put in the totes like my original plan, but wanted to get started again asap. I’m definitely going to be topping these two. I want to mainline them but I know there’s not enough room to have two plants like that in this 3x3.

So ‘Wow!’ to that NFTG Growers Bible over on Trello, I didn’t realize it was gonna be a book

In other news, transplants are struggling at the moment… The purple mac is definitely cannibalizing itself, the russian snow isn’t looking as bad but definitely not good.

I definitely have new roots tho and I can see some new one’s coming down through the netpot so hoping it’ll just be a few days… Don’t mind the dark color and such, thats the cleanest I could get the roots from the soil… Also don’t mind the piping, I didn’t have any other netpots so had to plug up the holes for topfill in the one’s I had and just used the tubing to do it as I was lazy
All the white roots at the bottom are new
This is the purple mac roots

and the russian snow’s roots

I added another 2ml of the aquaflakes for the purple mac, 1.5ml/gal total as 2ml/gal was giving burn 2 days ago. Hoping that helps a bit and that I caught it in time. I always have more seeds of these but cmon lol. Should be good :crossed_fingers:

Alright ppms are finally starting to drop in both totes! Think we have ignition now.

Getting there, I trimmed off the old leaves that were basically gone anyways. They’re still focusing on putting out roots at the moment but I have some new growth at the top too.

Definitely going to top both of these here soon

Should pull through all this in a few more days and then off to the races…

Looks like they’re turning around now, if roots are growing then foliage can’t be far behind!

Nice old school cross there, never got to try the legendary sensi star back in the day…

Yep roots are definitely growing! Got over an inch of roots in the last day or so and the purple mac is definitely starting to get taller so should be good here shortly.
Both plants are currently using 1ml/gal of Calimagic and then the purple mac is at 2.5ml/gal of aqua flakes and the russian snow is at 2ml/gal. Need another node to grow out and then I’m going to top them… Then maybe try and clone the tops to keep these around for a bit.

Debating on tossing the Godberry clone mom I’ve been keeping. She’s good and I like the smell/taste/effects, just grows slow af and I just wonder if I should bother keeping her when I have all these other seeds and strains to try that could be… should be… better.

I am super excited for that NL5xHaze x Sensi Star. It’s direct from Mel Frank so I’m really hoping it has that old school taste and affect. I’m actually hoping for at least one male as I really want to cross it with something. The OG Kush x Original Haze from Todd McCormick should be fantastic too but not sure when I’ll get to it.

My next grow is definitely gonna be some Northern Cheese Haze from Mephisto though. Been craving it since I had some a few weeks ago from my buddy’s grow. Not sure if I’ll run two yet or one and something else. So many choices, not enough allowed plants

Lol I know that feeling. A cheese auto should be interesting, I always enjoyed that strain. Keep it up!

ugh so many seeds I want to buy and grow out! Seriously thinking about trying to hunt down some Skunk #1 and Exodus Cheese among some others…

Mephisto’s shop just re-opened so I just ordered another 3pack of that Northern Cheese Haze… I don’t want to be without it lol… I also messaged Mephisto to see if they will part with any of the original photo F2 NCH crosses they made before they started crossing it to their fantasmo express to make it an auto. Seriously doubting they’d give/sell me any of them but doesn’t hurt to ask right?

In other news, things are coming right along in the veg tents:
Russian Snow

And here is the Purple MAC

And the Godberry Mom

She was starting to look kinda fucked up, so after thoroughly reading that NFTG Grower’s Bible and still not having much of a clue on how to use it, I followed the sample chart and went with the ‘Early Veg’ level of nutes. She’s definitely starting to look better, lighter green and such. See what happens here. I still have zero idea on growing in soil… Vegetables and Peppers I can do all day long but with herb, no idea

Finally! Here’s what we’re waiting on to get some serious fast growth going here. Just another day or two I think for them to hit the water.

Russian Snow:

Purple MAC:

Don’t mind the ‘what most definitely looks like serious root rot’. It’s what soil I couldn’t wash out from the root mass when I transferred from the air-pot into here. I’ve been checking it daily just in case but it’s not slimy, it doesn’t smell bad at all, and I’m using poolshock in the res at about 3ppm every 3 days so I don’t think there’s anyways it could be rot anyways. Still though I’ve been thinking about dousing the pot for a bit in some ph’d 5ppm-free-chlorine water just to be extra safe but I don’t think they need it. These tendril looking roots are actually spread out and flowing on the bubbles when in the res’ and from there you can see a bunch of white roots.

This Purple MAC definitely has some super vigorous growth. Possibly fastest I’ve ever seen and she doesn’t even have her hydro roots yet. She’s growing like a yard weed

This Russian Snow is almost as fast but not quite, as can be seen from the root growth. To be fair, she’s also the runt of the two seeds I popped of that strain and the only one of the 3 total seeds I popped this run that I had to help get the shell off. Same thing I had to do with the Godberry from the first run.

That Godberry was definitely the slowest vegging plant I’ve ever ran. Now I haven’t ran a lot of plants, so not saying much here but still. I’m tempted to get some more seeds of her just to see if I can find a faster growing or better version some day. The high, taste, and smell are all pretty nice. She’s not super potent but I personally think it to be on par with the ~18-20% dispensary herb that’s around here. Not bad for a freebie that I messed up on. I’m sure another run of her could be done much better. We might see at some point…

The more I look at these NL#5/Haze x Sensi Star seeds, the more I think I should just toss whatever moms I have this fall and run all 5 seeds at once to see what I get.

At the least I will want to cross them all together for more seeds to use later. And I think having pollen from these would be fantastic to hit something else with, like the Purple MAC or other GPS beans or some of the seedrun strains.

In other news, please someone send help for seed buying addiction

On top the extra pack of NCH from Mephisto I ordered last week, I also ordered a pack of
(OHaze/Skunk#1 x [Skunk#1 x OHaze/Skunk#1]) from Sam the Skunkman on seedbay
not sure what I’m gonna do with those but wanted to at least have them. And then I also ordered a 5 pack of Exodus Cheese and Franco’s Lemon Cheese, both from Green House Seeds over on Attitude since I had some Monero burning a hole in my pocket, attitude was low on stock on them, and I’ve been wanting them for a long time now anyways.

Speaking of cheese… I know Mephisto used a Female Exodus Cheese Cut they got from ‘hazeseeker’ on seedbay, and then crossed it with an NL#5/Haze Male from Sensi Seeds to make the Northern Cheese Haze base they used for their auto version. Sadly I don’t think anyone makes a Northern Cheese Haze photoperiod strain. Mephisto says they held back the F2 photo seeds they made originally and picked their best female from them for the auto breeding. I sent a message asking to see if they still have them/would part with them but not expecting a response there  Doesn’t hurt to ask at least. But since I have these nl5/haze x ss regs and will get the exodus cheese fems… then maybe I could do something similar

Alright, moving right a long here. Got both plants topped and still have roots coming in! Slowly getting there.

Russian snow I topped at the 4th node.

Purple MAC got topped at the 5th node.

Almost have the nute’s dialed in, still a bit high on the Purple MAC but have it about right on the Russian Snow now. Just waiting for them to kinda push through it. Still maintaining a clean res with the poolshock and haven’t needed to drain and refill the res yet, just top off mostly. Have had to swap a gallon or two in order to get the ppm’s back down but that’s about it.

I cut the tops off evenly, no 45 degree angle or anything, immediately dipped them into a small cup of pure Honey, and then stuck them into already ph’d(~5.8) root riots and then into this heated vivosun clone container thing with the same ph’d water, no nutes or additives just clean tap water.

These were on the day of the cut. Here they are 3 days later through the side of the clone box:

And speaking of roots, checkout the bottom of the airpot on the Godberry Mom I’ve been keeping:

Really think at this point that I could make a dwc tote and just stick this pot right on top and never need to top feed it again, no need for a netpot or anything… Not going to do this, but definitely a thought for later.

Alright, starting to get a bunch of noticeable growth every day now. Roots starting to get into the water finally, forgot to grab some pics of that but will try to tonight or something.

I had topped both plants at the 5th node it seems. I just defoliated the old big fan leaves a couple days ago, and then trimmed off the bottom two nodes yesterday so nothing is trying to reach out from under another branch. Just 6 tops reaching for the sky… er… light. Needs a bit more LST but otherwise just waiting for them to get tall enough to flip. If growth continues as-is I’d wager another two weeks or so, will see…

Root Pron!

Russian Snow

Purple MAC

Still waiting on them to shoot up, need these roots bigger. Still at least two weeks before I can flip, probably longer I’m not sure. Need them at least a foot tall and I’d like a nice rootball in the res too before flip happens. Right now they’re around 6" tall. Slowly but surely…

So was it the poolshock that helped stop the root rot?
