Holy's Garden (Part 1)

Do you ever just wanna tear out all your plants and start over? Some days, lately, I’ve been considering it…

At the least I’m super tempted to clear out my 2x2x4 and try and run one of the NCH auto’s from Mephisto in there, don’t think the tent is tall enough, but I could move it out and into the room if I absolutely needed to… idk. I need another, bigger, flower tent for sure, but then I’ll also need another extraction fan and lights, fucking expensive :slightly_frowning_face:

In other news, If I can ever get these two to flower and harvest, I think I’m gonna setup a flood and drain system in the 3x3 so I can start running the reg seeds I have like the NL5/Haze x Sensi Star or some of these Baked Beanz  Just grow 5 at a time and cross them to get some extra seeds and/or pollen and take clone(s) of the girls I want to keep to run again later in DWC.

I also need to figure out a good soil recipe or mix so I don’t have to worry about trying to feed plants in soil.

Not sure what is going on with these two plants. It’s like they’re refusing to put their feet in the water and I’m not sure as to why that is. Need to experiment more, it does seem like the better growth I get is on days 3+ after dosing the poolshock. Just start risking slime and whatnot at that time. I’ll have to test with a lower dose and then with maybe something else, go back to clorox or something.

I defoliated the lower and center area’s a bit the other day to get some better airflow and light penetration. Was getting super crowded. Both plants are 10"-11" inches tall. The Purple MAC is just looking sad but still growing. The Russian Snow has what looks like calcium deficiency on the middle leaves but really I’m sure this is from either the canna nute swap I did temporarily or the root rot/slime she had last week.
Anyways, on with some pics finally.

Russian Snow

And in other news, my bubble cloner seems to be working ^^
The purple mac clone from a month ago is finally putting out roots now that she’s in there.

Also dropped a Northern Cheese Haze form Mephisto so we’ll see what happens.

Northern Cheese Haze from Mephisto getting started! Double tap root?

The RS/PM are looking better but still a ways to go there…

Soooo… I dosed straight Clorox Regular Bleach at 1ml/4gal instead of poolshock and within an hour the tops were praying. Haven’t seen that in weeks. Also have a bunch of new root growth overnight. Basically almost everything in white is new, can compare to the pics from yesterday above.

And the Northern Cheese is coming along

I think she might be standing up and out of her shell when I get home tonight, She was already starting to stand up before I left this morning. Might be able to drop into the DWC tomorrow or the next day. She’s currently in a standing greenhouse thing with some veggies and tomatos being lit by a single 4k QB288 v2 at like 60w.

I’m trying to find a 4x4x5 or 4x4x6 tent but its proving to be a bit difficult. They all seem to be 4x4x7 or close to it and I only have 77" of clearance at most. Got some time at least.

So I was right, made it home and she’s standing straight up. And sure enough, I got two plants for the price of one seed!

I stuck the little in with the veggies for now as I don’t have room for another auto and I can’t hunt down my root riots at the moment

The seed shell came right off the big one but she still has what looks like a little membrane? Was planning on leaving it for now but not sure yet if I should or not, was just gonna see later tonight/tomorrow morning if she’s grown out of it or not and make a decision from there.

Hey HolyAngel

Wow what a great thread and setup! Enjoying it thoroughly, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!

@TerpSneeze Thanks for following along ^^

I remembered a trick I read about and put a drop of water on the top of the plant to get the membrane wet. After a minute or so and some finagling, the membrane came right off. So got two brand new leaves and placed her in the new 3gal DWC tote I’ve had running for the last 2 days. Will get some more pics of all that tomorrow.

So yeah, I don’t think I’ll be going back to using poolshock. Clorox seems to be where it’s at.
3 days into using Clorox:

Purple Mac

I don’t know what is up with her leaves, I’ve only seen 1 other Purple MAC and that one was in coco and it had generally the same leaf shape, bending down like that. So I’m not sure if it’s genetic or just not happy or what but her new roots look great.

Russian Snow

This is the growth I was expecting to see a month ago when I put them in here. ugh. Least it’s finally happening now.

Here’s a shot of the 2x2 tent with the Godberry mom and Northern Cheese Haze I just started.

And I found a spare root riot so got the little one in there with the veggie tray, if she makes it through I may gift her to a buddy, don’t really have room for two auto’s in a 2x2.

@Tappy forget what I said about using Poolshock, not going back to that stuff and will be sticking with Clorox Regular Bleach for the foreseeable future.

This is the root growth four days into using clorox, redosed last night.

Least an inch of root growth a day this last week since switching to Clorox instead of Poolshock. The entire time I was dosing poolshock they just would not want to put any roots in the water. Waited for 33 days to make sure and nada. Soon as I switched to Clorox, BAM!, roots everywhere.

Great to see them picking up. Full steam ahead!

That’s how my roots were in the last dwc attempt…roots would kind of grow around the net pot, but not down into the water. 3$ Clorox bleach is on my shopping list. Gonna wash the dwc out tomorrow after work. Nice to watch you try the poolshock and Clorox and post the findings!!! 1ml of Clorox per gallon of water…and how often do you apply? In my autoflower dwc, I only had to apply it once early on.

1ml per 10 gallons of water = 1ppm. I’ve been doing 1ml into 4 gallons without issue so far but I’m sure I’m at the upper end of dosage. I’m dosing every 3 days so far and that’s basically what I was doing on the godberry before too.

NCH 3 days since germinating and already a root out the bottom of the pot

This is start of day 4, that one root is already like an inch long, pic is out of focus sadly

So I’m already kinda impressed. All my other plants since I started this up last summer have definitely grown slower than this. Lets hope it keeps up.

The 3x3 tent is trucking right along too, more roots and more growth, about a foot tall at the moment. Thinking they might be tall enough to flower come June 1st but we’ll see how it goes.

Purple MAC

She’s finally picking back up again

Russian Snow

Northern Cheese Haze
ya know it really helps if you don’t touch the tap root and snap it in half  Lost like 2 days waiting for her to throw new roots down, but now we have like 4x 1-inch roots in the water.

And I started a Blue Dream from Humboldt Seed Org

She’s already popped and has a 1/4 tap root in there, just waiting on her to push the seed up. Basically going to do a soil 12/12 on this one, was a freebie so I don’t care what happens to her, and it will let me get some more experience on soil runs.

In hindsight, I should’ve started another Auto instead, I have a 32x32x63 tent showing up soon and I also ordered 2 more HLG R-Spec boards. But oh well. Always next time

So I just realized that the Boysenberry in the cross of the Bodhi Tree pack I picked up a couple weeks ago is actually an F3 pheno of Goji OG  Going to have to run these next I think. So many seeds, not enough space or time…

mmmmmmmmmmm lovely white goodness. That’s what we want to see. Stick with what ya know I guess cos if it aint broke, dont fix it.

Perhaps the issue with the pool shock was a dosing issue. Most people mix it with water then measure it out of that. However, once it is mixed with water it quickly starts to react and lose potency. You end up with lower control of your dosing. I did the math on my setup and dosing to figure out the weight in milligrams of pool shock to use for mine. Then halved it to be safe. That way it is fresh pool shock I am weighing each time and gives me more control. You need to have a scale that measures accurately to at least hundredths of a gram to do that.

Yep I’m using @7lpdwcaw’s GrowTracker app to track everything!

This is definitely possible. I was only able to rely on others use, I was always told 0.1mg/10 gallon = 1ppm and you need 3ppm to be of any use. This was my post with the concentration breakdowns and weights. I was dosing 0.15-0.2 miligrams into 4 gallons every 3 days and yeah, roots did not want to be in the water at all.

 have you seen the latest alpha release? I did a bunch of work on the statistics page adding in new charts and stats. Would love to see some data other than my own

Yeah I’ve been using it since the day you released it ^^

I need to use the ‘Water’ function more in order to get more use out of the graphs and such. I check PH/PPM/EC morning and night and the easiest way I feel to add the data into the app that is to just tap on ‘Note’ at the top of the main plant page and type in my changes. I only do ‘Water’ any time I actually refill the res and not any top off’s or changes so the graphs aren’t quite as accurate for me as they would be in soil.

Im also super neglectful on updating the ‘Garden’ page

This is pretty much how I use it, I know it’s bad lol
