How come thc vape cartridges dont use hash oil? like the legal weed ones

hash oil is more potent and easier to make then co2 or butane extracts, and it has a hasty taste

anyone want to help spread the word in the rec/med scene that hash oil is the preferred method for oil carts? I smoked hash oil out of a vape pen once with my friend Ryan, got high as a kite and was smooth

hash oil is the only extract that works on me. not sure what it is but i ate a 50mg gummy the other day and didn’t feel the effect at all. i do recall that i always got high on hash but it’s been almost 2 decades since i’ve had any.

Keep an eye out for any gummy that mentions "nano-emulsification"
They run the mix through a high shear blender breaking the THC/CBD down into super small droplets.
This greatly increases the surface area etc. Sounds like marketing hype but it actually works and works well. The ones I find around here are Left Coast Gummies (in Canada) but I’m sure there are others.

A lot of vaps are made from hemp.
Why use that vs hash oil?
Because it is cheaper.

That was pretty interesting when I first read about it.
I may have to try some.

In the early 80s I used to get some hash oil. It was a rarity. We would put a little on the end if a nail, touch that to a little self igniting coal, then suck the smoke through a straw.

Most powerful thing I smoked in high-school.

I have really fond and vivid memories in the late 70s and early 80s of those rare occasions when someone would have some glass vials of hash oil for sale. I"m not sure what later generations call it today but I used to love placing a drop on the end of a joint and lighting it. That first hit was always to amazing.

I remember it wasn’t runny and thin but thicker maybe similar to molasses, well even thinner then molasses. Ya’ll know what I mean. Anyone have instructions how to make “Old School hash oil”? I would love to give it a go.

Is rso hash oil?

That’s always been my assumption. The vast majority of my flower is reduced to RSO, but when I smoke I often use it to top off my flower.

My one prior experience with “hash oil” was in 1981, I remember it vividly. Wish I could still get that high :grinning:

Rso is “Rick Simpson oil”

It’s a specific way of making concentrate. I don’t consider it hash.

See that’s what I was wondering too @420noob . I may have to learn how to make some RSO and see how close it is.

Yes I know what it stands for thanks. Since it’s an extract(alcohol extracts the cannabinoids) once alcohol is evaporated I guess it would have more cannabinoids then just hash that’s why it’s not? @JoeCrowe might be able to help maybe?

RSO is definitely a hash oil.

As somebody who pretty much only smokes hash, and uses rso in edibles, i know a little on this subject :slightly_smiling_face:
Hash is a solventless extract. Rso is extracted with alcohol, a solvent.

Dry sift hash- physically forcing trichromes thru a screen. The “old school” hash, typically pressed into pucks or whatever shape
Bubble hash- ice & water extraction using micron bags. Typically buds, sometimes leaves
Dry ice hash- same as bubble, replacing ice water with dry ice
Hash rosin- fresh buds pressed thru a micron screen with a heated press
Rso- ethanol/alcohol extraction. Uses leaves, stem, and buds.
