How do you coffee?

I drink no water. I haven’t had a glass of water in probably 3 or more weeks, no juice, maybe 1 glass of milk in a week. LOTS of coffee and beer and a bit if whiskey too.

FYI mild coffee has more caffeine than dark roast. I like mine fairly strong though as I love the coffee taste

It’s weird, I put lots of milk in my coffee but the idea of drinking a glass of milk grosses me out.

I live an ice cold glass of 2% but never in my coffee, no mill, no cream, no sugar… sometimes Irish cream though

My girl and work mates think I shouldnt be alive because if my utter lack of water intake. I tell them there is water in beer and coffee, it’s all I need :joy:

I also own a Baratza Encore, but am a bit annoyed with the coffee grinds that seem to shoot out when you push the tray back into the unit. Anyone have a solution to this? I switched to V60 pour-over from Kcups half a year ago and am very pleased with the quality. I think I do like French Press a bit more but the long steep time with that style makes the v60 pour-over the method of choice for me…

I try to make sure there’s at least a little blood in my caffeine stream.

Cold brewing doesn’t extract some of the oils that can upset your stomach like hot water can. If you find that coffee doesn’t agree with your system, check out Yerba Mate. It’s like a tea - but contains no tea - made from a rainforest plant. Plenty of caffeine but it’s really easy on the body. I find it not jittery at all and it allows me to focus clearly.

It is traditionally brewed in a gourd, then you drink through a metal straw that has a filter on one end to keep the leaves from pulling through. Now you can find sweetened flavors ready to drink from a can. I keep some in the fridge for those situations when I don’t have time to make coffee…

Here’s how we coffee. 12lbs green from sweet marias equals best shipping rate via UPS ground, roast em up in small 1/2lb batches, grind, brew, imbibe and appreciate how the roast evolves over a couple days. Definitely a lifelong love.

For a nice cup, grab a bag of Vermont Coffee Company beans, an ok hand grinder, and a Hario pour over, you’re gonna be fine.

For pure function, buy the two lb bag of instant on Amazon haha

Can’t say I haven’t done the same. For me, it’s starting a new batch of coffee, when there’s still coffee left in the stainless carafe.

Glad i found this post lol. So happy that many OGrs are not only potheads, also coffeeheads.

Not gonna lie, i was thinking this thread will be full of aeropress posts :joy:, just found one flick in the whole thread so… Anyhow, seen so many people that use french press, i like that too!

I love single origins, specially Ethiopia heirlooms, specially Yirgacheffe  Funny things about Ethiopian and mostly african heirlooms is that they cant reproduce and trace the genetic maps of those due to annual variations in every harvest, so basically every bag you gonna buy from those origins usually are a little different.

Now im sipping on this.

Look at the cream.

I usually drink it with creamed milk and a hash spliff. But sometimes i drink it solo. (With a hash spliff.) LOL

I have a Rancilio Sylvia espresso machine I’ve had over 20 years, modified with PID temp controller, and a Mazzer mini grinder. I drink almost exclusively double shot espressos, lattes, cortadas, or “flat whites”. I also roast my own beans that I buy green from various sources. I don’t fool with robustas; arabica beans only. I usually use some natural Brazilian as a base, and add Ethiopian, Honduras, Colombian, and other south/central American, or African depending on what I have on hand at the moment. I lived in Italy for 3 years as a young man, and got hooked on their coffee. In camp, I use a moka pot, French or Aero press. I don’t do anything without my coffee, and trash like Starbucks never gets a fuckin’ thin dime from me, no.

just had a coffee yesterday after not having any for months, 2 cups in a day is too much for me, anxious as fuck, anxiety attack… i should have limited it to 1 cup a day. i guess it might not be for me. sleep schedule is fucked and i’m groggy all day so i figured it would help. maybe half a cup a day would work.

Ive never drank coffee before. Recently i met the love of my life. She loves coffee so i started drinking it. Damn, its such a strong stimulant! Amazing for getting your shit done. Aslong as its within 4 hours. After that and im asleep🤣 ill have to post a pic of our coffee machine. I think its called primalate? Not 100 though. Its an amazing espresso machine with a milk frother on it. And we only drink coffee from rampage coffee co up in saskatoon canada! Roasts their beans for orders every monday and ships them out right when they are ready. I dont plan on trying no folgers. 10 days After roasting and the terpenes in coffee drop by around 50%… cant imagine how long folgers has been roasted AND GROUND UP in a jar on a shelf

That Ninja, IMO, makes great coffee! Was my favorite home brewer. Our hard water doesnt work well with it and cant get it back to functional. Been through a few different machines and always come back to the Bunn. Before the worldly shit show, the wife talked me into a cruise vacation. Had the best cup of coffe ever in PeurtoRico! Ruined all other coffee since as I cant replicate. The machines on the cruise ship made a nice cup also. Pretty sure its instant?? Anyway, fast forward, here we have another hobby that is out of control!!!

I’m weird, I’m not a regular coffee drinker but I was heavily involved with high end coffee roasters for 10+ years, so I know good coffee pretty well. Honestly, 95+ of the people on this planet drink “bad coffee” in the same way 95%+ of the people on the planet don’t know what good weed is.

I’m lucky enough that I’ve met and had several national and world barista champions make me coffee. Since then I usually only drink black cofffee, espresso and pour over from places that truly know what they’re doing. And that’s about every 1 in 1000 places that serve coffee. It’s very difficult to procure great beans, store and roast them properly, and then make sure they’re brewed correctly, usually 10-15 days after being roasted with exactly the right water is something rather rare. Once you’ve tasted it it’s tough to go back.

That’s why most coffee gets a little cream and sugar from me. If it’s good, black. I also love cortados :v:t2:
