How to change a SOG to Scrog with same yields?

I am thinking about switching from SOG (harvest every two months 1 - 1.5 g/W) to a SCROG (maybe three plants).

I never did scrog. Is it possible to have similar returns like with SOG?

What strains are good yielders for scrog?
How often could I expect to harvest?

Im not a scrog guy but one things for sure. You will need a lot more veg time. Just saying.

I doubt anything comes close to sog for yield. I think the question I’d be asking, is, are scrog yields better than regular grown yields, given the extra time/work.

Scrog is pretty good for yield but wow is it a pain in the ass to trim

where i live the cops take the whole plant dry it and that’s the weigh they bust you for. not having a massive thick stem is a plus here

I’d only ever go scrog because of low intensity/no penetration lights…

But to answer your questions:

With the right strain, scrog can come close if you ignore the month/run of veg

Strains with ample stretch and kingcan size cola will do best, super lemon haze, ak47 etc

Usually a high level sog would use a 10weeker for 5 harvests a year. Using scrog and a 10 week plant as an example: 10 week flower + 4 of veg or 52/14 = 3.71 harvests per year. You can push 4 havests/year using a 9week strain or 3 weeks of veg or any combo with a little wiggle room

the only reason to change would be to comply with local laws limiting number of plants the imo

I got charged with possession once for a 2 leaf seedling. They weighed the pot and soil and seedling. In court they said I had 25 grams.
I kid you not!

I do scrog and a month veg is expected also mainline at least a month in veg
But less watering , a lot of training , but that only makes you more familiar with the plant which is a good thing :+1:

If you have moms sog is most likely the thing to do Clone the hell out of them put them in a small pots and let them rip personally I would still put a net over them for support no need to top
But definitely Lollipop them

what strain you are using?

Cops raided our house, they didn’t find what they expected to find. So were coming up with all kinds of stupid charges. The judge wasn’t happy about the waste of court time and threw everything out. We were laughing at the cops.

I did a scrog “sort of” in my last run and will be switching to SOG next run. I think the trimming will be much easier and i don’t love that once your plant has filled its screen it’s pretty much stuck their until it’s done. Not so much of a problem for a 1 plant scrog but when you have multiple under the same screen you could run into some unforeseen annoyances like I did. One day when I have space for more tents I want to do a large single plant scrog just for fun, the training itself is very satisfying!

At this time I have a scrog set up with bubble monkey from calyx bro it’s a short stout plant
It’s in my 24 x 24 tent

I’ve done 16 clones in this same tent sog style it is quicker ( big mistake I made was 4 different strains should have only did the same strain
I just made sure the clone was rooted and gave it 1 week in veg
I did the same with 30 in 1/2 gal plastic pots still A pain in the ass when it comes to watering
I feel the yield is worth the wait with some strained

Don’t remember the exact strains but satie dominate. Will get large
