I went to my uncle’s funeral today

I do like good music, and that definitely qualifies!

And thank you for your part! smile1

Soma Lavender, kind of, but very close.

I’ll have to look into getting some, are they breed stable out the pack?

No, it’s not really the inherent signature of Soma. Plan 20/30 seeds.

May he rest in peace, Sodapop. I envy that you not only had the pleasure to meet Mr. Duckie, but that you also had the honor of calling him “uncle”. He sounds like he was an amazing man.

Much love.

67 is young to die. My uncle died at 42 but we weren’t close like that I wasn’t old enough to know about weed. Death is the worst part of life. Hopefully gets better with time as people say. Sometimes that holds true sometimes not. I listened to the song. Hopefully you saved a copy other than YouTube. My family smokes. Hopefully we all live a while but idk.

Weed is just part of the culture over here in Hawai’i so I’ve been aware of it since about 4, my dad smoked around me as a boy after he came back from crab fishing in Alaska. I lost an aunt at 42 to breast cancer when I was 9. 67 is a young age to go but I’m just happy he lived a full life. He spent these last few years living with his daughter and he spent so much time with his grand kids. It’s like he took just the amount of time he needed with everyone. He lived in Vegas for 5 years and saw his two sons all the time, then he moved back here and lived with his band mates, then in 2020 when he got the bad news that he’d be fighting cancer he moved in with his daughter and he saw both of his daughters all the time and spent so much time with his grandkids. A lot of people have regrets when they go but he seemed so calm and happy until the end. I hope he never faced even a moment of fear as the inevitable came to see him.

He was a great guy and I just am happy that I never took having him around for granted

Man, I love that song. I just listened to it again and find myself singing along. I listened to it a half dozen times now. He was only one year younger than me. I hate it when we lose such cool people like him. Thanks again for sharing, bro. He would be so proud that you shared his and your story. And his music. :v:

Edit: any chance of you compiling some of his other music to YouTube? I’d sure love to hear more. peace

I knew you were an OG’er for real Gman but I didn’t know the exact age, I’m happy you’re keeping on man. You’re such a light around here. I wish I had more to share of him.

I just listened again. Man, it’s such a catchy song for so many reasons. It’s sort of a haunting song, too. I sure hope you can get it elevated for more people to hear!

He must have loved reggae music and culture. It would be cool the hear a reggae group pick it up and record it. He had a big smile on his face when he asked the reggae to come and sing his song. :v:

Oh it’s already a song this is the original by Ka’au Crater Boys. He did love reggae music though, his band like many of our old style bands here in Hawai’i did mostly covers or renditions of country, reggae and rock music

I dig the Playing for Change videos. It always picks me up. Here’s some for Dukie. I’m glad he was a music guy!
