My older brother (54) was on vacation in Hawaii for his daughter’s 16th birthday. His fiancee found him on the bathroom floor unresponsive Monday morning. EMT’s got his heart restarted, but he had an aneurysm and was in a coma. My parents got to the hospitalization in Hawaii yesterday morning, and were told he had no real brain activity and they couldn’t fix the aneurysm because he was in heart failure. Between my parents, his fiancee, and his best friend of 40 years (who happens to live on Maui) it was decided to remove life support after his other 2 children could FaceTime him goodbye. So this morning he was placed on comfort care and passed surrounded by his closest loved ones.
I just needed to write this down to help myself.
