Flowers are swelling very nicely plants are healthy and happy for the most part. The smells that are developing really took me off guard. I’ve grown a lot of Chem crosses. But I’ve never grown any that smelled anything like this. Usually they are well on the funky/offensive side. These emit an aroma of deep sweet earthiness with a delicious herbal note in the background. I described it earlier on as “brown sugar and dank wet crawlspace”, but that really doesn’t do it justice. I really so love the grossness that Chems usually provide, but something about this profile is hitting me in all the right places.
Again, please forgive my crappy pics this round. My room is so full, I’m having trouble getting good shots. Plus I’m having to use this old wide angle lens and it leaves pics a little blurry around the edges.
#2 got so tall I had to do a little LST to keep it from touching the lights. She really would have made a real giant outdoors.

#3 has taken this weird phenotypic expression to the extreme.
#3 I’ve never seen a bud that looked like this. That elongated center calyx is nuts.
#4 Is a very healthy, happy lady of the Dogwalker type.

#5 is a super beautiful example. Starting to be a real resin monster.

#8 is a lovely short Dogwalker leaner.

#9 Started out expressing that curly trait but has largely grown out of it over the last week.
#9 The calyxes in this one are so large that the buds resemble little grape clusters. It’s hard to see under that thick layer of extra long pistils.

This summer is flying by. I am happy to say that I have been enjoying as much time as possible with my family.

Three of the ECSD x Cherry West are poking up outta the soil, a little more than two days after I planted them (60 hours, if we wanna get super-specific haha). I soaked them for two days before I planted them, too, so… One of them was actually up this morning when I got outta bed, maybe 45 hours after sowing? Pretty good!
A few of the other things I planted are also above ground, which is a relief. I totally fucked up my “planting plan” last week, started everything a few days later than I wanted to and haven’t been able to be here to babysit the seeds because I’ve had to go to work.
Fucking work… haha.

As the days pass, the smells keep getting sweeter and more complex. Most of the time, in my experience, when plants emit sweetness, it’s normally in the form of either fruitiness or a vague candy like aroma. These are giving me a terp profile that I haven’t come across since the late 80’s. It’s a complex, multi layered burnt sugar smell with an earthy/mossy quality that really defies description. An aroma that sticks with you and makes you want more. It’s reminds me of the spring of 1987, sitting with my guitar teacher in his Toyota Le Van. He pulls out this joint and says “this stuff is called hydro, and it’s some good shit.” He’s wasn’t lying. I had a hard time getting the key in the door when he dropped me off at home. Lol!
#2 is so big I have a hard time getting all of her into the frame. She really is a lovely plant and would have been freaking epic outdoors. Chem Del La Chem leaner.

#4 is turning out to be a nice, bushy Dogwalker leaning lady.

#5 has to just about the most beautiful plant I’ve grown in many years. The pics really don’t do her justice.

#9 early in life had the curly genetic mutation but has since largely grown out of it. You can see a remnant at the tips.
Last and probably least is this little mutant.
She’s weird, she’s small and really hasn’t developed any type of smell.
I’ll keep her around just to observe her traits unless she throws nanners.
#3 those enlarged calyxes on the top are extremely strange. I half expect something to emerge out of it one day. Lol!

Been busy with work and training the past few weeks haven’t had much time in the garden between harvesting my tent and work too get pictures but here we are got 3 females 2 males and one that just is stubborn and won’t show so will clone it and put it outdoors to sex if female will throw her in next cycle but I’d say 3 females is pretty fitting for a triquetra run taking a few clones from each getting them into the 20 gallons over the next couple of days

This past week has given us more of the same. Swelling buds and rising aromas. This Chem cross is a departure from any other Chem that I’ve had in my garden. Normally they produce that funky, foul, earthy, fuely, meaty, terp profile. This one couldn’t be more different. Some carry notes of deep mossy sweetness while others are taking on a nose tingling sourness. They do stretch quite a bit when flipped so you have to keep any height limitations in mind. For indoor growers, toppoing and training woud be a must if vegged for more than a few weeks. This cross would produce giant trees for the outdoor gardener. Which is where I think these plants would be the happiest.
My experience tells me the Wizard of Nugzz has blessed us with another winner.
So, on to the plants…
#2 Is one that has that deep mossy sweetness. It’s also a lanky lady that I struggle to fit into the frame.

#4 What a beautifully lush example.
#4 is also developing that sweet and sour profile that makes your mouth water.
#5 is also a bushy beast and the most beautiful plant of this run, IMHO.
#5 taking on that knobby O.G. look
#8 is a sexy beast too.
#8 carries the mossy sweet profile.
#9 is another sweet smelling beauty
#9 I love her round buds and yellow pistils.

Chem D x (Black Triangle F2) Tester
Smoke Report
I harvested this run back in mid July so it has slept in the jars for 5 weeks now.
That should be sufficient time to give us what we’re looking for.

Aroma
The Black Triangle influence dominates. The stale piss aroma is noticeable but takes a back seat to the kushiness. Very pungent.
Flavor
This one tastes exactly like it smells. Initially, the skunky, dank, babypowdery kushness hits you. And just as the smoke is expanding in your lungs, and that kushiness is really hitting the spot, the parking garage-stairwell-stale-bum-piss flavor sets in. Really assaults the sinuses in the best way possible. After the exhale of beautifully thick smoke, the falvors lingers.
Potency
This will get you where you want to be every time and might be too much for the casual smoker. The come up is fast so she’s no creeper. The effect is surprisingly balanced, very much an anytime kind of smoke, with caution. Makes you good and high but still funtional. Has excellent legs and a very low burnout factor. Ceiling is high but managable for seasoned heads.
#7 (AKA 7 of Spades)
Aroma
The Black Triangle dominates. Pure Skunky, baby powdery, earthy, coffee, dankness.
Flavor
Strong kushiness. Lots of earthy, skinky, dank baby powder, but the the smoke ads a faint coffee-ness to the background.
Supremely mouth coating. Superior thick, smooth smoke.
Potency
A heavy hitter. This one leans a bit more to the indica side. A little more of a creeper. It’s the one you grab when you want to sit through the WHOLE movie.
Very high ceiling and excellent legs.

Aroma
The aroma is evenly blended with notes of skunky, earthy kush and funky, fuely, chem.
Flavor
Again, the flavor is just like the aroma. A perfect 50/50 ballance of kush and chem. This is probably the most flavorful of this run. Mouth coating dankness that hangs around in the sinuses for a while. Mouth watering.
Potency
This one also carries a big stick. Comfortable for the vertran but a little overwheling for the beginer. Fast come up. The sky is the limit with this one. Keep smokng,
keep getting higher. Long lasting and satisfying.

Aroma
This one was a bit of an outlier in veg smelling like car exhaust, but has cured out strongly on the kush side.
Flavor
Tastes earthy and kusy with a stronger cofffee back that the others.
Potency
While still giving a great effect, is slightly less potent than her sisters. This pheno is an excellent day time smoke. Providing a very posotive and up beat experience.
A superb choice for social occasions. extremely low burnout factor.
