Grow Log #1: Mainlining

Flower - Week 1 (April 25, 2022)

Here is whatā€™s happening:

Category Description
Water Let the water(tap) sit for 24+ hours and adjusted to 6.6pH & gave the plants a drink. Added 1tbsp of epsom to the water.
Humidity Sitting at 60%rH with the lights on.
Training LST/Mainline - The branches are basically touching the edge of the tent on all sides. This is exactly what I want because Iā€™ve never filled out all the space before. Did some defoliating on Saturday and Iā€™ll do another round closer to day 20 of flower. That will be the last big defol. Weā€™ll see how much they stretch and if I need to tie anything down but hopefully I can just let them grow at this point. Last round they nearly doubled in height but I have enough head space to manage that.
Lighting Lowered the light to 15" above the canopy. Over the next couple days I will turn the intensity up from 50% to 80%. The plants seem their happiest there.
Nutrients Iā€™m in soil and I potted up to 5g containers roughly 10days ago. They should be well fed for a while. Iā€™ll top dress with dry nutes around the end of week 3. Depending how it goes I have some liquid kelp & fish emulsion on hand if they need a small boost before then.
Overall Health I donā€™t see any signs of deficiency or stress right nowā€¦ which seems suspicious , lol they look great.

Hereā€™s todayā€™s picture:
One of the tent
Another of my outdoor plant.
They all look good to mešŸ’Ŗ

Outdoor Plant Update

Not sure why but the leaves on the plant I have outdoors are doing the claw.

The soil is the exact same as my indoor plants so it shouldnā€™t be Nitrogen toxicity.

Iā€™ll post a close up tomorrow but you can kind of see it in the picture above on the lower right side of the plant.

There was a random cold snap last week and it dropped to about 3Ā°C (37Ā°F for my American friends) which is pretty darn low.

Anyone else run into this after ruling out a Nitrogen problem??

Iā€™ve got some clawing going on too.
No burning or bleaching at all so my response is ā€œwhateverā€.

Flower - Week 1 Day 3

Just a quick photo todayā€¦ I edited a bunch of older posts making them easier to read and added a table of contents on the OP that makes the thread easier to navigate. Itā€™s not perfect but weā€™ll get there

Flower: End of Week 1

They stretched a lot during the first 4 days but have slowed since. Iā€™m sure they will stretch a bit more this week but last round they did most of the stretching in week 1 and slowed after that.

I will take some close up pics later todayā€¦ nothing to exciting happening yet!

Humidity: Stayed between 58 - 62% all week.
Temperature: 23Ā°C
Water: Gave them a drink on Tuesday & Friday at 6.4pH and 6.65pH. Its rare I manage to adjust it to exactly 6.5 but anywhere between 6.2 and 6.8 is okay with me.

:tada::tada:

Took a good look at the plants today. One is herm (bottom left of above pics) which means 2/6 seeds Iā€™ve popped from one breeder turned on me.

I know itā€™s not impossible with fem seeds but 2/6 is garbage if you ask me.

Of course it was the plant that is thriving the most that turned too, hahaha

Donā€™t think Iā€™ll grow FEM anymore. Itā€™s too annoying and idk which breeders I can trust. That company says they do extensive stress testing but I donā€™t know what to think now.

Iā€™ll take some pics of the sacs before I toss it today

Isnā€™t this just a male?
I donā€™t see any female parts.
Maybe another sign to make your own seeds?

I noticed that tooā€¦ I just assumed herm bcuz they were feminized lol

Very suspicious

Iā€™ve got some JOTI regs that Iā€™ll be popping on the next round in September. Iā€™ll probably try and make some seeds and just go my own way lol

Itā€™s a wonderful feeling making your own seeds, especially from a bag of unknown mixed seeds!
Starting with hybrid vigor right off the bat!
You only have to pollinate one branch.
Or set up a little perpetual 12/12 tent or closet (can be as low as 111cm maybe even 1m) with one 10L pot that you throw a handful of seeds in and you can do open pollination if you want.
I only let my males pollinate for one day or so, then harvest and maybe put them in a paper bag in case I wanna pollinate some more plants later that havenā€™t matured yet.
