James' lil Octo-Burner. One 2x2 Tent. One Octopot. One BIG-ASS light to rule it all!

Exhaust fan off vs on   Tent walls move in and out changing camera angle

She’s on Day 41 Flower Week 6, but I gave her week 7 nutes last night. 4 gallons in res, and a gallon left over.

PK on this one was 12. Base nutrients down a bunch as well as EC. Next week even less, and PK will begin to move down to 10 per gallon.

Looks like UVA lamp is good for highlighting burnt leaf tips! :100:

At first I thought dust and reflections…  Nope. Burnt tips

Just fed nutes last night at 860 ppms, so should be good to go. PPM/EC really drops on Week 7. PK peaks at Week 7 Feeding, then down from there.

Turning lamp down tonight as well. Maybe level 7 or 6. We’ll see where that sets Ppfd. Need to get heat down in this tent. Not going to roast until the end like last grows. Think I may have burnt off terpenes late in flower.

If anyone remembers, toward end of last couple grows I noticed the plants just werent sticky like they were in earlier weeks (week 6-7). So gonna move down a notch or two.
Ive been kinda going nuts with Ppfd, Its crazy how much light these things can take.

Wow - you are not wrong about it being a money pit - lol
On a serious note, what is the benefit of extra UV? and what Part of the growing process is it used?
Great pics as usual (if a little purple - my fave colour)

UV is very mis-understood, and very new to even seasoned growers. Many untruths out there. I have a basic grasp on some truths (as I see them, lol)

UVA as supplied by AC Infinity, is really only useful as a mini-stress and may bring out possible colors (or other expressions) in plant and slight possibility of minimal additional terpenes and or THC, but probably not.
You can use this from Veg thru end of Flower with no ill effects as long as intensity is dialed in. I use when main light is on, whether 12 or 18 hours shift.

UVC is dangerous and dont mess with it.

UVB depending on the actual spectrum used is where the real magic lies…
UVB used in small doses works. Many have proven it. Dr Bruce says yes, as well. You can use throughout Flower as well as late Veg.

I would like to add UVB fluorescent bulbs at some point, as well as additoinal Deep Red and IR, but right now its a bit overkill. No decent UVB LEDs yet. Burn out too fast.

You heard of minimalism??
Im a Maximalist, so you’ll be seeing addtional stuff soon. I cant help myself.

Nature gives plants all spectrums at all times, for the most part. For indoor growers, the whole idea is to mimic the sun as best we can.

Diminishing returns is a possibility, due to newer tech, but…

Thanks for the great reply @supersecretjim - keep up with the maximalism - love to follow what you are doing - keeps me smiling

Mondays in-tent cam shots…

So, I found out that I left I small light on in this tent from Friday thru Sunday late afternoon. Hope that does nothing to make thiis girl hermie at the end of her run…Sometimes I use the stationary lamps spotlight function while Im doing stuff in the tent

Normal lighting or top spot light. Over exposed

Grow light off, and side spotlight on. Much better

Grow light off, side spot on with UVA lamps. Not so bueno…

Its amazing the difference lighting makes for photos. I really dont like the way the main grow light washes out my upper cam shots on both tents. Turning the main light off and using side lighting works out best for a decent shot that comes off natural and not overexposed.

Harvesting next weekend, I think…

Day 45 Flower

Hard to tell from the pics. Is the yellow cola building frost like the others or worse or better?

That cola isnt doing much other than just staying alive.
She’s Skinny Minnie
She’s frozen in time, lol… Other than the yellowing leaves
Buds not getting bigger, not much frost, not too sticky.

I may pull that cola this weekend and stick what buddage there is, in the Cannatrol. Get a week or two jump on the rest of the “good stuff” to harvest and dry in a week or two.

Do you scope them? I don’t think it’s a terrible idea. I would be curious to see if you pulled that cola and placed it in water with light nutes if it would snap out of it.

Here’s a few close up shots of the affected Cola…

That cola will come down tonight or by weekend at latest. She’s fairly ripe. Buds are small, but have decent trichome coverage. Small size because they havent grown since the supercropping incident weeks ago.Snapshot in time…
More brown hairs on thise cola than the others.

Damn that doesn’t look bad at all!

Here’s a selection of shots… Both top colas and lower buds represented.

Hairs fairly light, but some darker hairs starting on all but “Ol Yella” - she’s already there.
I can see these going until at least next weekend, possibly the weekend after that. So, end of Week 8 or 9. Light showing of Amber trichomes on mostly top parts getting most light.

“Ol Yella” cola is coming down and will get to Cannatrolling sooner than later. The others will be a week or two behind, most likely.

Incredible thread! Thanks for sharing a little behind the scenes action on the grows.

Edge of my seat for when you smoke test “Ol Yella”. Trichome pics all look really good. Will you take pics this way daily till chop or do you span those checks out for a bit yet?

Not daily trichome shots. But probably again in a few days, and again next week at some point. Was hoping to harvest next weekend, but may be close.

Ol Yella is cannibalizing itself right now, and I’ll check for signs of mold/disease when bucking her lil buds :100:

Yeah I would check too. It looked in the trichome shots of her ol Yella is further along in trichome maturity to the rest of the plant.
