Most definitely. Mess with it too much on each grow .
I love to test and see the differences from center to edges, doors open, etc…
Thats why I’m so impressed with the two above photos with open tent showing 956 off-center and 768 buried in a corner with power at only 9. I just got those shots out the door as wifey & I leaving for night out with the kid (Stanlee ). With doors closed, the numbers jump up a fair amount.
With doors closed, those numbers could push or exceed 1000 & 800 ppfd, respectively.
At 18-20" in my 2x4, lamp level 10 is doable if plants really healthy. Blue Dream is a big ?Question Mark?..
Also, Blue dream is a Sativa heavy hybrid 80/20 so she may need different handling
Here’s Saturday!
Kind of an icky day in Las Vegas anyway, so just doing some maintenance with both grows and mixing nutrients for week 3 of flower. Going to mix up a little Athena stack as well for this week. This will be the final week of Stack foliar application.
Thanks! I’m tryin. Still not very good at defolitation, etc.
This is when these plants start to REALLY intimidate me. I suck at training.
I use horsepower (big light) to make up for lack of ability.
I do appreciate the good words. Im my own worst critic.
As for the Item in question…
I use it to transfer larger amounts needed for 5 gallon nute mix.
Its always Sofaking messy trying to accurately pour out those amounts fron the gallon jugs. Forget that. Hate spills everywhere. My bottles still look new outside. They will till theyre empty.
My routine:
Insert disposable pipette into hand-held controller. Lower pipette into solution and press upper button to suck nutes up. When at desired level… say 55mL, release button and use lower button to dispense into my 5-gallon container.
I rinse the pipette between each nutrient. Reuse until it gets a bit foggy, then open new one. Usually one pipette goes thru several feedings. Works for me.
It has been decided…
James’ Money-Pit’ next pair of willing victims is a test grow that Im just pumped about!
Octo-Wowie! or is it Octo-Powie? Powie-Octo-Wowie! Courtesy of @BobbyBudz
These strains really caught my eye, and Im super-excited to be a part of the test group.
Heres the link:
When Blue Dream and Skywalker OG harvest and go into the Cannatrol, 2 of these strains are going in next. Cant wait!
This will also mark my second grow with the RainScience Grow Bags with Octopot, assuming all goes well in that current 2x2.5 grow. No reason to think not.
Im not sure which strains I’ll be getting, or how many of each, but I’d love to have them in rotation. I can even devote the Octo-Burners next 2x2 grow. Sounds like some really cool stuff, and again I couldnt be more excited!
Thanks again BobbyBudz for this opportunity…
If my calculations are correct, when these babys hit Octopot… you’re gonna see some serious shit. -Doc Brown
Ah, a pipette mechanism. I’ve been entertaining one for similar reasons but the ones I’ve been looking at are the more standard straight mechanical style for smaller volumes. I like that design for getting to the bottom of jugs. I wasn’t even aware of the electronic pump type looks like my wallet lightens today
I’ve been using bulb-type transfer pipettes mostly the 10mL graduated glass type, some of the flimsy annoying plastic 1mL type for pH adjustment, and a 250mL precision graduated cylinder. It is annoying. But I frequently make measurements 0.3mL, single-digit mL and the largest I need in my tent is about 100mL. It’s cool that the pump type could accomodate all of those ranges.
On the defoliation, I’ve found a lot of help on here. And like anything, with time, comes comfort.
Overall, I’m getting some highly consistant coverage. Nowhere in this tent at canopy level am I getting less than 700 Ppfd.
Got a respone back from Grow Light Science advising my GLS ProGrow 320 is operating nornally. Im gonna really test it after this grow.
I can say without a doubt…
The HLG350R Diablo absolutely SMOKES the ProGrow 320 in a 2x4 tent. Not even a contest. I gave the GLS one a half chances, its let me down. Maybe I got spoiled buying the HLG as my first lamp, but numbers dont lie. I will do a proper “Face-off” later and start a thread.
Went out for late lunch with wifey, and to bring Stan to park and play a little bit. Great it’s Easter Sunday as there are lots of families with their kids and dogs as well. Yesterday was a big grow space work day, but definitely taking it easier today. Did a little bit of work on the canopy. Looks like they’re not quite ready for a fill up with week 3 nutrients.
Really hoping when I get home around 5pm today, the reserviors are empty. Im sure Skywalker will be, Blue Dream shouldnt be too far behind,
Ive noticed Blue Dream is starting to take off with pistils now. Running about a week behind Skywalker. Maybe thats a characteristic? Maybe just this seed/pheno?
Wanted to check out how much time in stages for both Blue Dream and Skywalker OG
Germination 3-4 days
Seedling time 1/31 & 2/1 - 2/17 is roughly 18 days
Vegetation time 2/18-3/16 is 28 days
LSD plant in my 2x2 grow is a seedling since 3/22/24. Thats 11 days so far. I was telling myself earlier this morning “one more week” until I call it offically Veg.
Seeing how the other girls have progressed from seed, LSD is on track despite a slow germination.
Had a chance to feed the nutrients made Sunday and made another 5 gallon batch as well.
Each girl fed 4 Gallons. They are up past the third float marker.
Tuesday Day 67 from seed and Day17 Flower
Here’s in-tent cam shots…
Funny the effect lighting has on these shots. HLG doesnt like level 1 when waking up. It will back down to level one, but starts at level 2.
Anyway, gave me the opportunity to get backlit vs lighted shots…
I really need to knock out a good defoliation this weekend. Day 21 is sneaking up…
Doing a Stack foliar application before bedtime tonight.
Will do one more FINAL Stack application by the weekend. No more of that for this grow, which is really great because foliar applications are a pain, and I dont like a bunch of water on my plants as theyre going to bed. It takes 30+ minutes for that stuff to dry off.
This tent is already turning into a humidity pit… Really, REALLY need to defoliate.
