Normally I go 20% perlite, when I build my soil and if anything it can drain to quickly. That herculean harvest must be like molasses lol.
Most growers who grow small amounts of plants, don’t realise how time consuming, expensive and stressful it is to grow lots of plants, it always seems like a great idea until you do it lol. I am glad I only do abut 4 max now instead of 16 to 20. Plus I have way to much more weed than I can use before it passes it’s optimal use by date lol.
Herculean harvest looks like a melted milkshake the xanthen gum or whatever is like the only non organic thing in the line but it helps bind the bone meal
They have all been getting the same thing and i try to give them about the same amount of water like 5 gals get more water but try to stay consistent between them then 3 gals less water being consistent
And now all of the sudden the ph is rising i have one plant that started showing problems but like i said in posts before I’d kinda just take note and not freak out like before the crunchy curled leaves i got purple under sides.
So i looked up just potassium deficiency in plants and Slapz checked every box. my first instinct is to give it some potassium supplement by microbe life but i said wait a minute mr nectar said there should be enough potassium in the Nectar line……that’s what made me look at pH. Now I’m just waiting for the pots to dry out so i can do a correction feed just bump up two bottles in a feed no biggie but this sucks lol now i feel like they’re stunned but we’ll see
Really you need it to be around the 6.5ph range when it gets that high you may experience some nutrient lock out which may cause the rise in PPMs as they cant access those nutrients. The plants could also be less hungry, depending on their genetics and life stage.
PH swing is not a bad thing, so long as it starts low around 6.1 or 6.2 and works itself up so all nutrients can be used as the soil PH climbs higher. PH rise can happen as the soil drys out more after watering.
The closer you are to a PH of 7 the more there is a chance of lock out especially if your nutrients are not in balance with each other. More potassium would raise the soil PH, I know I have managed to fuck up my soil with too much potassium silicate.
Any one of those nutrients that have a smaller range of accessibility P, and Mg being locked out will have an effect on how the others are able to utilized. Anything that is close to the 7 PH finish range may also not be getting full utilization.
@Mrgreenthumb I’m trying to stay in the 6.5 range because nectar uses calcium to deliver everything else that’s how it was explained to me so pH is critical
I fed them a full feed plus extra of gaia mania because gaia mania has a bunch of acids and help bring it down two treatments of that should do the trick. It had before
Also this strain is slapz (runtz x grease monkey) 8 to 9 week flower time
Nectar also adds lime and oyster shell to the mix both are alkaline and will raise ph level. The soil you are using is a organic soil, so it will ph swing but will go back to the alkaline buffers that are in the soil
Yes I am familiar with the nectar, a good product for sure, it is a organic mix so you have to treat as so. You can ph your water and have a nice swing but it will go back to an akline state, which is what your reading was in your last post , which is why I stated that was not to bad.
After a certain point the mix will get used up and your ph may drop, but you have to find that time by working with it.
If you want to be able to fully control ph then go with premix or a coco coir mix. So far your soil is doing what it has been designed to do and seems to be working well. I would stop trying to adjust your ph as it could be hurting more than helping. Normally ph will drop during the grow once the mix gets used up
I see honestly i brought this up to Scott ostrander and I’m doin what he tells me to do you’re telling me new info tbh haha good to know. So really i just need to be feeding basically everytime i water
I forgot to mention that i started kinda worrying when i saw 2 of the same strains look different in terms of the purple undersides. And fading, the buds are pretty even in size but one looks better than the other so i know it’s not time to fade yet
About 45 days since the flip decided week 9 I’ll start checking trichomes i got some hopefully slow bloomers I’ve seen what they can do in a professional grow and they had bud growing on fan leaves it was a strange thing. Also professional so a lot of things i don’t have CO2 And lights brighter than the sun. But the aroma is there….GMO X grease monkey it’s offensively beautiful
But I’d like to upgrade my set up new light and a trellis and set up a drain system 4 plants per side 5 max 7 gallon pots maybe idk depends I’m scared some of my plants are gna get root bound on side a
On side a
I got
Pint sized
Granny apple sass
Rainbow gelato
Spritzer (the grow off strain of 2019?)
Orange push pop
Juiceman
White widow
And project 562
