Job Interview

I have the opportunity to interview for a Hydro/grow shop that also grows and sells it’s own CBD stuff. Looking for people to go to events and sell their CBD products and promote the store. Also looking for growers. So the question is . . .

What does one wear for a job interview at a growshop?

Hard to say. It depends on the place. Maybe a suit. Maybe a tie dyed T-shirt.

Read their marketing and take a guess.

Best of luck.

And if I wear a breeder/bank shirt, WHICH? Gotta be BOG shirt under Sebring Hoodie right? Or more mainstream with one of my NASC (North Atlantic Seed Co.) shirts?

Rule of thumb - dress one peg above what is standard.

And I usually do the rule of thumb. This may be the exception that proves the rule. Dont know if Im feeling polo shirt and slacks for this. Def not much above that. Last few job interviews were full suits. But a little different field. I also hope I dont get stupid over qualified question shits. I do what I wanna!!! Rather be over qualified in the industry of my choosing then right on the mark for something that makes me hate myself.

What does their website look like? Who do they want in a booth at a trade show representing them?

From the photos and posts, tie dye shirts and shorts/warm up pants at the booths. Ive seen nothing at any level that theyve put out anywhere that shows much else. Hence why a polo shirt would still make sense and probably not be questioned, but the anxiety of being out of place, even for a legitimate thing where I WOULDN’T be out of place like an interview, just drives me crazy. Hence weed.

Sounds like Nice Jeans and grow related polo if you have one

Do not dress in a suit and tie please. That is so old school, I had a buddy who went into a damn Dairy Queen interview like this. He did not get the job. Wear a pair of slacks or nice jeans and a nice shirt, maybe a polo or casual button up. You are interviewing for a hydro grow shop here. I think it’s important to be cleaned up and professional (hair, nails, facial hair… smell good) … but definitely do not go over the top and stick out like a sore thumb (a freaking suit lol).

Good luck!

That tank top should give you some guidance :+1:

Thats why suit was off the table. Store shots are mostly store branded t shirts and jeans or cargo shorts.

Looking at this as a good way to make contacts and get my foot in then door of the local commercial grow scene. Gonna get interesting as licenses start getting handed out. No idea what their long term plans are but they do have 3 stores and their own CBD grow op already.

i would agree since its an interview, prolly a bit different then what you would wear at an event reping the company.

I would wear slacks and a polo personally. I know @argo945 works at a grow store, what would you suggest he wear to the interview?

@FiveGar
Just wear freshly washed clothing, use some Pit stick (nobody likes smelly) and be yourself man.

That’s what they really wanna see. What does this dude look and act like on the regular?

Why bother “dressing up” for the interview  when you won’t do that daily afterwards …

Be knowledgeable about anything you speak of, be personably, ask questions and smile. Believe me, this is a likeable attribute.

Im also probably 15 - 20 years older than most of the other applicants. This is gonna be interesting.

And what if I dont wear deodorant on a daily basis? Then should I not wear it for the interview? (VERY much kidding. I got anxiety, I live by deoderant and antiperspirants.)
