First day @ new job

I took a job at a local nursery and start today. It’s only part time, and pays half of what I used to make. I’m nervous and excited. The pandemic helped me realize that I need a job that I want to be at.
I’m a social idiot, this should be fun! Cross your fingers for me growmies

I worked at a nursery for a little over a year. Gained a lot of useful knowledge while working there. Worked at one of the biggest nurseries here in my state. We had multiple satellite locations all around the state, mainly down south, that grew all kinds of stuff. They eventually got their license to cultivate marijuana for the state I’m in, but only saw pictures of the operation.

You will learn lots of best practices and acquire more plants than you know what to do with.

Best of luck.

I was once hired at a hydroponics operation as head manager. On my first day I was given a tour of the facility and was told that I was there to maintain their practices but had no control of
operations in any form.
They were completely new to hydroponics and had all the right equipment but didn’t have a clue to what they were doing.
I patiently explained what they needed to do to be successful and was politely told to shut my mouth and do what I was told.
I literally walked out got in my car and went home.
I found out down the road the whole operation had failed and closed down.
Millions lost and was really glad I had walked……….

Good luck in your new job!

Way to follow your heart! I’m working up the courage to do so myself.
But it’s hard with 3 kids and a wife to provide for. Good luck :green_heart:

I’m in the same boat right now. Hate this job, but don’t know what I wanna do and can’t take a pay cut right now because of the market. It all sucks!

At least I got my indoor garden to tinker with and a son to take up more time than I have.

Rad! I was retired for 12 years when I took on a not so high-paying role running a clone room for a few years, back in the early 2K’s, in hopes of re-acquiring my lost Herojuana. Never replaced her, nor found anything even close to its extreme potency, but it was one of the best times I have had working, ever.

I had some dickweed try to get me to run his clone room for him (retail hydro shop) for less than minimum wage. I told him to fuck off.

Less than minimum? LMFAO! Larry Kristich, who owned CCG, paid us very well because there was just so much profit being made that he could. It sickens me to see people getting paid minimum wage for any job, and even more so in a quasi-legal arena.

“Yeah but you get like a dollar a clone man.”

I worked part time at a nursery in the 90’s. I was full time with a good job, just wanted to work part time and the owner wanted me to work every weekend and 5 hours every day after I got off work.

He said a smart ass comment to me after I’d been there two weeks so I had a “fck this job” moment called in the next morning and quit.

I’d take they! we ran 66-80 trays of 78 every weekday.

It was a pretty good day I’m happy to say! My boss lady is a sweet older hippie type. (I’m no spring chicken) I think we will get along just fine.
Thanks for the positive vibes boys!
