This should mean your knowledge of the industry surpasses the competition… Also, this company wants to know that you know how and can successfully network… give them examples of how you have done this in the past.
Just smile man that’s almost never let me down when I go in for an interview.
100% required for close contact communication lol
Ohh lastly, be confident… It shows the company you can do the job and won’t need a babysitter.
Main thing is really sales. The job is to sell CBD products at the time, yeah, but really sell them on the store, of the idea of growing, to get them in the store and buy shit there. At least that is how I see it and how I would handle it given the ad I applied to a month ago and the short phone convo so far.
Knowing the laws, limits, and all the stuff, especially for people who didnt know who to ask or were afraid to, is invaluable in doing that. As important at this point in legalization as grow knowledge.
Being a member of my state bar association is going to be a weird one. For knowing the laws, great! For getting annoying questions about being over qualified and why would you want this job, fucking annoying. I got that when interviewing to be a music teacher.
It disappoints me when I go to hydro stores in my area. Very few of the workers actually know anything about growing. I think if you can show you know what your doing when it comes to that… it will be one of your biggest assets.
Walk in, slap a bag of your best dope on the table and a pack of rollies, and say I grew this, let’s get this interview started… then roll one up.
Or don’t, but it may work
Tell them how your grandma would never touch weed cause it’s the devels Lettuce & that a few years later she warmed up to the idea of CBD after she tried cbd cream and didn’t get baked and it helps with her arthritis… = You got the job … ,)
Only been legal to grow here since july 1st. Still working on first legal harvest.
Im already happy I got some soil there once to check em out. Mentioned it when he asked if I knew where the place was. Thats when he mentioned they were also looking for growers and seemed glad to hear it. Networking/connections are everything in sales, tiny better than nothing. To a salesman tiny is everything.
They’re getting you all dressed up man. Sounds like you’re happy I’m glad you got a job there good luck my friend
Visit the store and observe what they all dress like it may clue you in
I already have a clue!!! I most definitely ain’t looking 4 no job…lol
Maybe the op should go look at the employee dress code.
Yeah, a pair of jeans or shorts and sandals with low socks, and wear one of their company t-shirts if they sell them. They’ll all get a laugh at that.
Remember, they’re stoners too. They just want a stoner with wit and street sense that can impress stupid non smokers. In other words, just be an OG forum guy. You have a much larger world picture of the products, and how it’s dealt with internationally, as well. I would use that as a self promotion. We forum posters really do have a pretty wide knowledge of the industry and how people deal with it.
I’d use it as small talk, too. We really do speak with people all over the world every day. Who else do you know who talks to people all over the world on a daily basis? And, about pot? heh… Just wear clean clothes but do’t scare the poor kids. Wear what you would wear to go shopping there. You’ll most likely end up being regional/district manager of the company, and forget who we are, lol…
They’ll be more intimidated by you, than you of them. peace
Yeah, see? that dude was relaxed and he’ll probably get the job!
I would do polo shirt and kaki. Nice neat and NOT a stuffy suit. Still casual.
The hell? We said casual! No tie, no capes!
Other than that theyre gold.
My local hydro store, went in there asking about fan speed controllers, they pointed me to home depot, I said wtf are you here for.
Also, couldn’t find a external fan speed controller at home depot.
