Keeping outdoor weed clean?

Very good sir, you’ll be golden. Us stoners are notoriously crafty fuckers.

You can wash the ENTIRE Plant!! Don’t worry, it doesn’t negatively effect the Buds. SS/BW…mister :honeybee: :100:  :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’ll second the wicked looking covers you made, or mulch

Thanks so much guys! Gave the plants a nice wash with the garden hose and almost all the muck came off, I shook them dry, covered them back up and voila!

My harvest is saved and my gratitude is eternal :sunglasses:

Cheers

I sprayed down a plant with sulfur water a week before harvest to see if I could wash the smell out of my buds. Just as a test.

I chopped that plant today and washed it in dish soap. The kind that only has soap. I agitated it pretty well and got those buds nice and clean. I don’t smell sulfur on them, but I’ll probably do a microwave dry and see if they taste like gunpowder.

Ive only grown once last year so take that for what it’s worth. I washed most of my bud except for what I saved for hash. That just went straight into the freezer. I didn’t wash a few branches to see if there was any noticable difference. There absolutely was IMO. Unwashed was visibly dirty. Bugs, dirt, ect. Tasted harsher. Smelled about the same. The water left over in the first bucket was enough to sell me on bud washing.

For the record, I dried out some of the washed buds in the microwave and was unable to discern any sulfur taste or smell.

Yeah there was a lot of stuff left over that went down the drain.

I was reading awhile back about the practice of soaking fresh buds in the water in the fridge, and changing out the water whenever it turns green. It’s supposed to really improve the cure. Someday I’ll try it.

I used something called Purecrop1 last year and had no major insect problems. It’s basically soybean oil and corn oil but some other things that make it mix with water really well. I’ve mixed up batches in clear containers and it does not separate at all once mixed and left out. It’s OMRI listed. Bit expensive but this 16oz can is only about a quarter gone so I expect to get another 2-3 seasons out of it. I’ve been using it at half strength with good results. I used it in my veggie garden as well and saw less pests there as opposed to every year before that. I used only Purecrop1 and lady bugs and plan to try the same again this year

Id try to not fill your pots as high and mulch them. woodchips, bark. washed pumice, straw/grass clippings should work
