Well, in this case it depends on the use of the cultivar, the ruderalis from chebarkul exhibit some good properties as high resin, terpene content, and cannabinoid profile. Here you are not looking at a drug cultivar, you are looking at a medicinal one, i’ve tried the chebarkul ruderalis and its a very good effect, no headache at all, just not a thc high, but also its not the usual cbd joint you smoke, its a bit more ‘sedative’(in the sense that you feel it).
@Shevchenko well, yes and no, it all depend on what you are looking for and what you want to do, do you want full on control on the auto you get? Also do you want medicinal properties that are not found in the common cultivars? These ruderalis are like everything landrace, a lot of people look at it like ‘meh, weedy’ when in reality, when you grow them you find really good plants, also I would love to see a good worked auto strain put to test against pure ruderalis from chebarkul, as @LonelyOC states, these are hardy plants that need almost no care, also they have big diversity so you can find good things.
Im not saying this is better than this, everything is useful and has its pros and its cons, but imo, these ruderalis from chebarkul are tools for the breeder, or medicine for the ill(as its been used for that), so you choose! But definitely it is a long journey creating a good auto line from ruderalis, but as with any strain it has its beautiful properties that arent just the auto thing. Imo its very sad that people overlook this plants…
i get headache from almost anything that is modern Landrace, or hemp. Atleast to a degree.
You know this fast , hectic , speedy feel…
probably im just more strict.
Im of corse interested how your Chebarkul Looks like, wich vendor? Ahh, landraceteam…
Why Chebarkul has been used so much and why it should be used even more is because of the high resin production. This means when you cross and work your line, you can only focus on up the thc levels. Instead of also have to up the resin production, as you would with any other 100% ruderalis. This is a huge deal since you need to work your way to F4 for the cultivar to be 100% Auto.
Why not using Finola? This variety was made from 2 varieties, where one came from the Kirov region in Russia.Personally I live at 52N, but this variety always autoflower at my latitude. Its not certainly not high in THC, but some certain plants can be found with a higher cannabinoid content.Did some experiments with it.
In the 90s did some experiments with it with Original Haze, which normally starts to flower end of September at my latitude, but this hybrid started at the beginning of July till end of October.Pretty nice sativa high.
@Shevchenko are you still happy to collect and send some of your local seeds? I’d love to experiment with them to potentially breed hybrids with various characteristics.
I am aware of the minimal thc. I am looking for its extremely hardy weather resistance, strong abundant growth, and its short/auto flowering properties. Like I said I would like to experiment with breeding with it, plus I want to naturalise cannabis in rural regions of Australia and these characteristics would be ideal for the harsh environment. Also just looking to collect seeds from as many wild and landrace varieties as possible…
Any help will be much appreciated
