AKA: snake-rail or split-rail fencing. It used to be much more common in the 18th and 19th century. It can be built with little or no hardware on land that’s difficult to dig fence posts in due to rocky soil. It was (is) almost always built where timber is plentiful. Also - it looks cool!
Thanks for sharing. Very Beautiful
I believe the Hotel is still active but was closed when I was there buddy of mine stayed in it before.
Ok so its more of a case of where ever you can stick a fence post in the ground lol.
It’s the opposite of that. If you look closer at the pic (or other pics of snake-rail fences), you will see there are no fence posts. The fence rails are stacked, not attached to a rail.

OK I can see that now I am looking closer at it. So its a self supporting fence locked together by the weight of the upper cross beams and z structure stops it falling over. Very clever
Lots there, must be a hot air balloon festival. I bet there will be a few ufo reports caused by those lol.
Who let the balloons go ? Not as dangerous as who let the dogs out!
Stunning photos @anon20530495
A must visit if you love hiking or simply being amongst natural beauty.
Brings back memories of times I spent in the mountains of Lebanon. Incredible views.
I would like to have seen that @Oldtimerunderground I’m sure it was beautiful. @anon20530495 thanks for sharing as always.
I’ve seen them out west like that. Do they still have the blimp out there? @ReikoX it seems like I remember seeing one a few years ago well it’s been a little bit longer than a few years ago. I thought it was a spaceship. Lol I think maybe I was in Arizona.
Nope, never seen a blimp here in Albuquerque.
Many blimps come to the West of Phoenix in the Goodyear area. They park at Goodyear Airport. Often to cover the car racing events out there as well.
