Leaf discoloration/ dying? Needing advice.

Hey all! These girls are killing it now! Got them on full nutrients about 5 weeks into veg. Noticed the past few weeks that the leafs have been doing different things. Got some curling burn, brown spots and light green on edges of some leafs over all look healthy.

Any idea what could be causing this? Any tips appreciated!

Root bound and under fed by the looks of it. Transplant to bigger pots and feed them.

Can you provide more details? You say full nutrients but what nutrients are you feeding and what is the amount? What is your PH, RH, temp? What lights are you using? Are they dimmable? What do you have them set at for strength and how far are they from plants?

Those pots look pretty huge for the plants. I could be wrong but they look like 5 gallon pots which should be able to hold a giant tree.

Look like 3gal to me. But I’m only guessing based on pics of rootbound plants. Mine are in 3 gals and are fine so I’m probably wrong.

Another guessing game? Let me check my crystal ball…

:crystal_ball:

Crystal ball says under watered, they look dry and droopy.

Back off your base.

These are fabric pots. can’t root bound

id start at the watering, either over/under based on the way they’re holding their leaves. if they feel dry and brittle to the touch then they’re likely under watered, feeling full and supple in the leaves and stems then likely over watered. i’d start there and see if that course corrects the issue, if not then i’d look at nutrients, but def need more info on your program as others have said here to know for sure.

They are under watered. If they were over watered you’d not have the leafs drying out like they are. :v:
Edit- it’s near on impossible to over water in fabric pots. :+1:

curious newbie here: that discoloration would also come from watering issues?

Yes. Medium is too dry. This will reduce the grow area humidity causing them to dry out and die.

My guess in this game is Potassium deficiency … icon_e_confused|nullxnull

Under-watered for sure, those pots look very dry

Especially in aerated inert media in fabric bags with a mature plant in veg the substrate wants to be much wetter than a typical soil bucket deal that needs a dry cycle.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the pics George, but as potassium is what controls water uptake in the plant, it could be a combination of lack of water as well.

As with human problems, diagnosing and treating the cause and not the symptoms that are being seen is the difficult bit.

Guess underwatering is not a common issue icon_e_confused|nullxnull , normally the contrary, there’s always something new to learn, thanks for sharing your knowledge … beer3|nullxnull

Looks like a couple of things

Over watered
And too long on veg feed maybe , I would hit them with some bloom feed to top up p and k

Also looks like she could do with some mag : )

Thru a process of elimination , you being the guy on the ground , you should be able to work it out , we don’t know history or details of the grow like you do : )

Led in veg can also create that look : ) lack of uptake and turgor , due to no radiant heat ,
No simple answer , but your own process of elimination will find out why : )

I am not saying your wrong buddy  it could be low K or ph out a whack, locking it out, due to dry soil, from not enough water, hard to tell as these symptoms are very similar for a lot of problems. I am just speculating from what we can see like everyone else :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
