@cannabissequoia here are 2 clones of your dp cross from the plant I ran earlier in the thread. Will post more updates as she flowers outdoor
Looking like a great start for this time of year & I appreciate the headsup & growin’.
I’m still making my mind up about last years outdoor strains & that’s one I didn’t run so I’m extra curious. That Durban Poison is a weird branch of the weed tree, IMO.
Just a little early morning sun bathing… mixed a new soil mix, using basically a premade just add to soil amendment. Bit hot, but when using scientific methods such as a scoop of this plus a pinch of that, can hardly blame anybody other than myself. Sherb seems to be only cultivar really struggling with it. In this pic are 3 frosted melonz by lost river seeds, sherb, sherb x astrodawg by red eyed genetics, gunship by yours truly, a clone of ‘the 3’ found by chunky pigs and last but not least a friends take on dosidos… aptly named DubSiDos (in the 3 gallon) There were 8 seeds made, I believe 4 females and 1 or 2 males. This is female number 1. Don’t think anybody other than breeder have these in the states. I know one had made its way into Eastern Europe. I take fully responsibility for the neglect but will have her cleaned up and healthy in a week or 2
The 3
Welch’s Wonder x astrodawg Redeyed genetics
Winter gmo run
The orchid I got for my lady when my first daughter was born. Have been threatening to clean up her roots and repot, but that’s about as far as I’ve gotten in 2 years… but she keeps pushing blooms so will leave her be until after she drops flowers and will check motivation levels then. Also need to bring a vanilla orchid cutting home and see if I can get them to flower. It’s been a couple years so will bring one home and see if she takes off again
@cannabissequoia durb cross 3-4 weeks into flower.
probably gonna need some staking in another few weeks
Awwww schucks how will I ever recover!?!!! That’s a problem I welcome!
Be ready.
Need a few gallons, but that will be a good start sir
@cannabissequoia here is your sls (?) x do cross chugging along nicely for an outdoor ‘winter’ run. Be good kiddos will update more later
technically, that would be “Durban Poison (f) x Sour Lifesaver (m)”.
That year I popped BOG’s SLS & thought I had a girl that was a boy & had been on OG long enough to figure out the pollen thing, so I chucked him onto the 2 strains I had budding at the right time(Conspiracy Kush & Durban Poison clone).
I really wish I could talk to someone who’d know the source of the DP cut because I remember reading which farm it came from(the shop, Organicann, Santa Rosa, Calif. had a binder with all their clone info). 'Not sure if they even exist anymore (?) but Subcool was supplying them for a while back then(def. not his, just random fyi).
That DP mom was definitely an 11-12 wk plant, liked higher temps, & was the “real thing” or close enough.
Having tried the other cross(CKxSLS) & seeing your plants I can say the male will probably turn that flower very sour & the plant shape is about 1/2 & 1/2.
I also have tried another DP cross(Red Cherry Berry male) and it took the DP’s structure, buds were alll around 50/50, and is pretty good. Got 8# off 2 bigger plants.
Aaaaand I also have now tried out my RCBf x SLSm which isn’t a keeper but had some good traits(flavor & resin yield) but I’m not into “sour” so much, prefer the straight-up sweet cherry. It was so dense that budrot was an issue & the leaf:calyx ratio wasn’t good except for hash-making(surface area). It also had super 'roided stems that are no fun if you grind your weed like me. Makes for extra work prepping a bowl.
So a good lesson & experiment overall with that one but am gonna let it go to a new home.
Thanks for clarification, was just a quick post when I took the pic.
Also, temps have been wild, 45 degree swing this week and keeps on keeping on
My prized vanilla orchid… growing like a motherfucker but hasn’t bloomed in awhile… frustrating lol should have a few cuts to pass around soon if anybody is interested
Wow those orchids are loving life! Very pretty pics
Thank you. Have really enjoyed orchids over the past 15 years or so. Have hundreds scattered around my house, my parents, my sisters, my in laws and random plantings throughout the neighborhood. Anywhere that I feel needs beauty gets an orchid. Wish I had all my flasks from years ago, however hell hath no fury…
It looks like you are in a much warmer area than me, we only get small orchids growing naturally here but i would love to learn to grow them. Do they mind a wetter more humid environment? Or should i just be googling native strains?
