Let's discuss Bigfoot

Some officers do have incredibly big feet!

Apparently a lot of people all around the world, hundreds of different native tribes, across millennia, the epic of Gilgamesh has one as a character in it, is that the oldest story in the world?

You make an excellent point! The worldwide folklore of Bigfoot-like creatures is expansive, probably only second to the stories about the great flood.

Do you see Bigfoot as a person? Would you shoot one for science?

Researchers at area X see it as an animal to be harvested for science.

A lot of people are of the belief that bigfoot is of extra terestial existence. They believe they are rarely seen and have never been captured because of amazing physical abilities. Running as fast as 60 mph. Perfect night vision. Ability to move rapidly without making a sound if they so wish. I for one think the patterson gimlim footage is real.

So we are talking about bigfoot eh?
As a bit of a backstory, I grew up in the BC lowerainland and have been an avid back coutry fisherman since my youth and an avid hunter since my early adult years. I’m in my mid 50’s now and I have seen some wierd shit over the years. The lowermainland has the ocean to the west and the border to the south, North and east is a ring of mountains that while used heavily by people for all kinds of back country pursuits… people are probably utilizing 10% or less as far as recreation “in the mountains” is concerned. Long a hotbed of Sasquatch lore going all the way back into the stories of the various local indigenous tribes…Bigfoot has always been a topic amongst fishermen and hunters. As an avid steelhead and river salmon fisherman I ventured up into the river valleys of the chilliwack river , harrison, pit, stave and Chehalis… which is basically the focul point of sasquatch lore in the Fraser Valley as the natives there have strong ties to sasquatch. At the turn up the road to the Chehalis Valley there is a giant sasquatch carving standing there and the pub/store/motel is the Sasquatch Inn. I have caught glimpses of things in the tight and dangerous Chehalis canyon that I comfortably wrote off as bears but movements and speed made those assumptions unsettling LOL. Chilliwack River Valley is also a hotbed of sasquatch sightings and is just over the border from Washington State and the Mnt Baker recreation areas. In the 60’s thru the 80’s there was an old firewatch commander back when they had manned firewatch stations in the the valley and when a whole lot of first cut logging took place. He had fuzzy photos and many stories to tell of first hand sightings.
My undeniable encounter happened about 20 years ago now on a rainy October day during the Coho salmon run on the Chilliwack River. We were driving down river from the hatchery hole where the upper fishing boundary is and as we rounded a corner doing the posted 80km per hour speed limit, this figure sprints across the road in front of the vehicle and I see this figure on 2 legs with longer arms than a human and a posture that was not really human as it ran across the road and down into the short bushes and uneven terrain towards the river.
As it ran past I could clearly see long dark wet hair all over it’s body but thinned right out in the arm pit area. I never saw it’s face… but it was an upright, human like form covered in long wet hair… running at a speed and mobility that just was not human.
We came to a screeching halt a 100 yards or so down the road and I bailed out and ran straight to the river to see if I could catch a glimpse of it crossing or along the shoreline but I never saw it again. My friend Ian who was driving didn’t get the view I had , he just saw the blur of something dark and upright run across the road as he braked and swerved into the other lane to miss it.
Yes, I am convinced after all the “maybes” on various fishing and hunting adventures to the incident I just described… I am convinced without a doubt that these creatures exist. To what extent I do not know but the wilderness is so vast out there it doesn’t surprise me that real evidence has eluded us. Perhaps they live primarily underground and is why we are not finding thier dens and bones… I dunno.
I believe in aliens too but I believe in sasquatch more hehehe

Yes, there is an intersection between the Bigfoot and UFO worlds. A lot of Bigfooters shy away from the connections. Others report seeing Bigfoot and UFOs simultaneously.

A never-ending source of joy and fascination!

I thought you would have that perspective, based on how much time you spend out there in the woods…

Damn! That’s a fascinating story! I really envy you for your experiences! You are what is referred to as a “knower.” As a result of your experiences all doubts are pushed aside.

Have you ever considered telling your story on one of the YouTube channels? You can be incognito. DM me if you’d like suggestions as to who to tell your stories to.

So cool!

You point out an important observation bias in data collection. Usually people need to be in its environment to see it. That limits the number of observations by different types of people because only a sliver of the population goes into the woods.

As Mitch Hedberg said; I think big foot is blurry, that’s the problem. And that’s extra scary! There’s a large out of focus monster roaming the mountainsides!

most of the In Search Of Bigfoot shows I have watched seemed silly … all these big foot hunters going around doing dumb things in the woods LOL
Something for folks to think about is this… I know guys who have fished and hunted thier whole lives and they have never seen a Badger here in BC … or they have never seen a giant porcupine or even a cougar. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen all 3 more than once. Another thing to ponder is bones … every year all the elk, moose and various species of deer across north america , drop thier antlers and grow new ones every season… that is miliions of animals north america wide… and add to that all the bones from the carcasses of animals that are killed by predators or by natural causes. Hunters generally remove antlers and carcasses but mother nature leaves all these yearly dropped antlers and carcasses on the land. Where do they all go? Why aren;t our forests littered with the bones and antlers of these animals? In fact it can be very challenging to find shed antlers on the land unless you are skilled at hunting for them. I feel thes facts lend themselves to why bones or carcasses from Sasquatches are not being found… or perhaps they bury thier dead like we do?
food for though hehe
I have never thought to try and add my story to any of the online blogs or youtube channels but I have told it before in various forums I have been on and tell it in my private life.

I dont know much about Bigfoot. But I’ve heard some shit in the middle of the night around nordegg back country camping. Not saying it was big foot. Just had us pretty scared. Me and my one hunting buddy who was also there, we never talk about it. He is as redneck as they come. I’ll never forget his face the night we woke up to that shit. Can picture it right now… gives me the heebie geebies. Me and the youngest boy still camp the trunk road and the spraggs, but it’s not the same for me.

Bad shit can be out there for sure. Usually humans are the most dangerous things in the woods. But I don’t pretend to know jack shit, there’s stuff out there that even the ppl that pretend to know jack shit, don’t know about.

That’s crazy. I don’t know if I could go back in the woods if I seen that with my own eyes.

Mitch was the best! His death was a great loss.

Some people say Bigfoot can sense cameras and cause them to work poorly. Those are in the Bigfoot is supernatural or alien camp.

Unlike many other animals they do seem to be able to sense the infrared beams from game cameras and avoid, redirect, or destroy them.
