Light Leaks, does it hurt?

Hi all, new here.
I was wondering about the severity of even the most minor light leaks. Example: the tiny ones on power boards ect ect.
Also wondering if the plants have existed with minor light leaks since germination , is it possible they can become a custom to that scenario? Obviously the take no chances method would be best. But anyone’s thoughts on this would be interesting. Cheers

I don’t believe minor light leaks cause an issue as they probably aren’t brighter than a full moon on a clear night

I’ve given thought to this quite a few times over the years.

My hypothesis for a while has been that plants accustomed to complete dark periods during the majority of it’s life are more sensitive to light leaks while flowering, and plants that were usually exposed to light sources during its dark periods are drastically less affected by it while flowering.

At least that’s what I’ve observed in my experience.

I think I’m leaning towards the same opinion mate. 🫡

My personal experience is yes a minor light leak will often promote intersex issues. I have a fan that has an electronic controller. It has a back lit display that I can turn off. On a few occasions after adjusting the fan speed, I inadvertently left on the backlight. It is quite dim, and maybe like a moon, but each time I did this for a week before catching it several plants started getting a few bananas.

Now I should also say, I am almost always making seeds and pushing plants beyond their normal full ripeness period to get the seed to mature so it is not at all uncommon to get some bananas at this point. But my observation is that there was a higher frequency of it when I inadvertently had left on the controller back light.

My position is a little doesn’t matter. Don’t be foolish about it but don’t worry about a little.

You should see my cabinet, it leaks like crazy.
