Linear high bay LED lights for growing?

I was just wondering if anyone is growing with high bay linear led lights they have the output to be able to grow cannabis and the design and layout of the diodes are similar to the electric Sky es lights, but way less money and some are dimmable with selectable 3-4-5000k and some have selectable wattage output!? Hmmm maybe something to look into for a budget grow.
If they are even capable of being inside a tent and managing the heat.

I’ll be interested in the replies to this one.
I start my seedlings in the basement with a bunch of those 4’ strips along with 3 growlights. I rotate trays under the growlights…give them 2-3 days, then swap them around. The lights are on the wire shelving you get at HD.4 shelves of the LEDs, and 2 shelves of growlights.
Works great, but some intervention required.

I’m curious how much heat comes off them.

If dudes are pulling these results with t5s, I don’t see why you couldn’t do the same with high bay led with some dialage.

Gladly…. If it works out the way I’m hoping I’m going to build two units one for clones and one for seedlings going from bottom to top as they progress and then straight into Veg or bud room/tent. It just makes sense, I’m even thinking about building a tent from panda film over the clone one to retain moisture in a standard setting for the bottom three shelves but top will be out of cover and last step before open tent. Just my idea so far but once everything arrives it’ll be built instantly. I used every gift card I had to source the stuff I needed, shelf Amazon, panda film, trays/domes etc. indoor farmer oh and t5’s and LED’s too. And the rest at Home Depot and Canadian tire. Was around 150$ all in plus tax

I use only highbay 300w lights I have been doing it for 12 years I have 4 tomahawk 4ft with all the bells and whistles I can tell you now I wish I never spent the money on them I get two to three times the Depot tags i do with the colored lights fir sine reason the vwg growth just isn’t there i also find that i worry less about the growth of the fans because i have one hb 300w floor mounted from a bit of a distance points like a canon towards the plants i di rdwc 5gal 8 buckets 2 yes 2 plants in each bucket with 10in mesh holder i have my pumps on a timer ever 1hr they turn on for 15min i find it stops the roots growing towards flow tubes no tent i use a spare bedroom plus im way up high in this condo so the large windows help with natural light in the day i do autos I also do 17 on and 7 off over the years I find the extra time 7 hours off really plumps the end result also I try to wet spray with balanced at real rainwater I do around 6 also I find the high bay just flat out blows away my super expensive grow lights I’ll use them for the rest of my life we have a solar assist here so the bill is not a issue plus the quantity is and not just because they are my plants AWSOME!! Any pics of your light setup? I’m very interested

I don’t like to show to many pictures of what I have going

these are the lights I am using on the pictures of flower you can see the purple lemonade is ready to harvest now it doesn’t matter what ppl say the color of the grow lights SIMPLY DO NOT MATER in my opinion these high bay lights are just so much better and the smaller circle instead of giant square gives you the freedom to choose direction much easier that all the tweaking that goes into 4ft gl honestly you I get more coverage from 2 300w highbay than 1 700w 4ft tomahawk for $70 as opposed to another zero 700 make your own judgement all I can say I have been non stop 12 years strong cycling and I would take the UFOs over the square Everytime it took me a lot of time and money to learn this so use my mistakes to your advantage also I found with single hanger the air from the fan will slightly move the the lights and give you the added
swing coverage this helps with the lower branches even when you lollipop the plants love it use

@lexxcruzer I also like improvised, non horticultural leds. I use sils though, and I do think color matters. But I prefer the whitest color I can get, and those are 6000k so that’s a match anyway haha.

Are they actually 300 watt draw? Have you hooked one up to a killawatt or something?
