i just read an article

about listening to soil to determine if it’s healthy or not. pretty cool info and a link to the paper.

It would be cool to hear differnt eco systems from around the world and differnt echo types in the same area.
Seems like a fun way to get kids involved with nature if its inexpensive to do your self.

i got my young one interested in it when i saved the seeds from two apples and put them in a glass to sprout. after two days we put them into pots and now three have popped above the soil if everything works out we’ll have a few apple trees on the farm next spring.

i hadn’t actually given much thought to listening to it myself but i’d bet it won’t be that hard to replicate. i’d imagine the hardest part is filtering out the external noise and just getting soil noise.
