The “green crack” from HSO humboldt seed organization, and Mark newguy420 on strainly is bunk. They don’t have the real thing.
Green crack is a clone only, so look for good quality hybrids. that’s the only way you’ll get something related to the real thing.
I used to grow the cut when I lived in san francisco. Haven’t seen it since. The closest I got was green crack s1 x chocolate trip. Unfortunately, I trusted that breeding project to a friend, but they discarded the male plants and basically wasted the seed stock on a one shot outdoor grow. Lesson learned.
Let us know how the green crack x ON Haze turns out. That sounds promising.
The Florida Sunrise green crack x tk also sounds promising if genuine. who made those? can you tell about that breeder?
That one is from Jungle Boys. Got it off Strainly, so who knows if it’s legit lol.
She topped herself pretty early, and is staying pretty short and bushy, especially compared to my Ghost Train Haze which is going to need to be topped soon.
Green crack is an emerald triangle production strain which started out as a black market cut. Later it was pretty popular in the old california MMJ system.
It is likely a selected phenotype of an old local skunk line. It might have some old emerald triangle green bud in its genetics as well.
No, HSO is a spanish company. They have nothing to do with humboldt and no presence in california.
HSO specializes in selling fake genetics that rip off the names of popular bay area strains.
They are basically scammers that capitalize on the hype of high quality california strains, and sell knock offs to people who don’t have access to the real thing.
More recently they have started selling polyhybrids made from their own bogus genetics.
The HSO name is a bastardization of a well regarded old prop 215 collective in Humboldt county, which is now defunct after the rec legalization laws passed by voters in 2015 destroyed the MMJ program and the prop 215 collective system.
Interestingly after the legal crackdown on the spanish seed companies a few years ago, HSO has established partnerships with licensed cultivators in a few legal states in the US. This is a recent development, they have never had any presence in california or oregon before this. This is a legal loophole for them to get a toehold in the US legal market.
The HSO company is not trustworthy.
The grey market collaboration of an spanish company with a licensed company in oregon is sketchy, OMMP/OLCC regulations should prevent any international ownership, investment, shipping etc. The spanish HSO company should have no involvement with an OLCC licensed company.
I’m not sure how they pulled that off but it’s not a good sign that they are subverting the legal system like that, just like they did in Spain before the crackdown. The sketchy behavior of seed companies like HSO and dynafem provoked the crackdown.
This is going to cast legal cannabis in a very negative light and possibly provoke even tighter regulations if these international companies try to subvert the rules of the states.
@zephyr thanks for the info mate I didn’t know that about hso they sound pretty dodgy! I only ever grew one of the strains they offered & that was blue dream, I’d love to try the legit version to see how much better it is. Thanks again bro,
Green crack clones are available here in my area from Top Hat Nursery. It never went away people just renamed it because of the stigma. I grew it for a while but never really liked the thin floppy branches. IT has a look and a taste that is pretty recognizable.
