Thanks! I love the Chem Fuego. It’s been my favorite since it first come out and I popped my first pack of them. My keeper was a nice mix of all 3. Unfortunately this past grow is my last with it, lost the mom.
The Mazard I had a hard time getting to germ. They had super weak heads and would pull it off before it popped dirt, just a stem with part of a leaf. I ended up with 2 females out of a pack and those are the two in the pic. One is really sweet smelling with not much chem, rubber scent. The other smells like tennis balls and chem91, looking forward to this one.
My biggest regret was losing my chem fuego moms before I had them dialed in. First smoke was okay, so I didnt think much of it, but after a cure? Fuck, that was good smoke.
I have one more pack of the Fuego left that I can go through later and maybe find another mom, shouldn’t be too hard as every plan I’ve grown of it has been high grade.
The Mazard has another 5 days left before it’s ready to sample.
I have some Sweet Chem on deck and possibly some Diesel Therapy, yet to decide…
Been extremely busy with work and the plants have been neglected for sure “don’t judge”
Didn’t lose any moms. Have 2 Chem Fuego phenos, a Diesel Therapy and a Guerrilla Fume along with some other breeders. The DT I’m not too thrilled with the terpenes on this one. I want to give it another try as I believe I had too much air on it during drying.
Yeah, I wasn’t too thrilled with the Diesel Therapy that I grew, either. The smoke was very good (which is all that matters, ultimately), but there wasn’t anything “Diesel-ish” about either of the two plants, as far as smells/flavors were concerned. Some of that may have had to do with my soil mix, which seems to impart a very specific flavor to everything I grow, but usually I can pick out, like,”Okay, these flavors are from the weed and these flavors are from my soil.” I didn’t pick up on anything Diesel-like.
Good high, though. And I’ve still got some of those seeds, I’ll check them out again at some point.
Good stuff in here. I grabbed some diesel therapy and chem fuego to try out. It’s my first run in years and I’m having a hard time deciding between those or karma’s sowahh. Love to see the 91 come through so nicely on these lucky dog crosses. One of my favorites of all time.
I have more seeds as well, unfortunately just not the room. I usually just pop one or two and hope. I try to get different kinds in the tent, as variety is what I like. Could be my soil as well? Pretty new to this, so still learning a lot. We’ll see how this round goes.
I’ve found the Chem Fuego to be easy to sow, easy to grow, gotta watch the botrytis late because the nuggs are incredibly dense.
I’ve run a couple packs and could have kept any one of the females as a keeper cut, just depends on your tastes.
It doesn’t like extreme light or high temps, like it’s parental stock. They feed fairly heavy and like the Ph to be around 6.2 in RDWC and coco both. I’ve never gotten my soil grows to turn out as well as I can with hydro, way easier to be in control of the nute feed.
You will be glad you did it if you’re a fan of the chem and diesels. The chem is dominate in every plant I’ve tried, some more than others.
I don’t think you’ll go wrong with any of them.
From the pics in this thread, looks like you’re right, can’t really go wrong. Nothing against salts, but im starting out with organic soil cause I work a lot and I found it the easiest to keep plants with different needs happy. Ultimate goal is to hit keepers from the chem fuego and diesel therapy with some sowahh pollen.
From growing out quite a few of skunk va’s strains you cant go wrong but its all the same ,lucky draw what you will get ,chem fuego you cant go wrong with ,another was western star, found a great sourish chemdog ,my fav is chembrand but i love all things chemdog
This is diesel therapy my mate grew outdoors ,she aint much to look at but was super fuely and had a start kick to it ,more like sleep therapy
Right. I like variety, too, usually plant 5x of four different cultivars to start and then go from there. I’ve been getting gawd-awful F:M ratios the last, like, four years haha, so I always just assume that if I plant twenty seeds, hopefully I’ll end up with eight females.
Maybe. What mix are you using?
One thing I’ve noticed with all of the Lucky Dog gear I’ve grown so far is that it all tastes kind of the same. And I don’t think that that’s because of my soil mix. I think that Chem bx2/3 male that SkunkVA’s using is pretty dominant in the hybrids, at least as far as the flavors and high are concerned. The plants may look different, but the few I’ve grown smoked pretty similarly.
I have some packs of the Durban Thai Highflyer hybrid and the Super Silver Haze hybrid, too. Whenever I get around to planting more Lucky Dog gear, those’ll be the ones I sow. The stuff I’ve grown so far has all been a female in that sorta Chem/Sour/OG realm (Diesel Therapy, Chem Fuego). I’m curious to see how a hybrid that utilizes a female that isn’t at all related to those kinds of strains tastes and smokes.
Sunshine biscuits ak47 cherry pheno was all cherry sweet dominate ,western star and chembrand have a more sour d taste to them ,well the ones ive gotten have, sometime soon will run skunks chem cornelia cherrypie and red Lebanese to see whats hiding in those beans ,the best thing about.luckydog is all the ladies ive grown are really potent ,thats the main thing i look for ,chem 91 aint pretty but she is the queen
I have actually been pretty lucky with my M-F ratio. Especially with Luckydog.
I misspoke saying soil, I’m running coco with DTW. I wouldn’t say all the ones I’ve run taste the same. One cut of DT that I lost definitely had a diesel smell and taste. The 2 Chem fuegos I have, one is chemy and lemon cleaner, the other is chemy with a slight anise; which I found a bit odd. I like it though.
I have more I want to try. PoleDog, RoadDog, Diesel Poison and Twin Peaks. Im searching for a certain flavor/smell, so didn’t venture too far into some of those other hybrids you mentioned.
Im sure you will find what it is you are looking for ,also i agree with the M/F ratio has been good but thats seeds ,everyone has lucky streaks
I had 2 poledogs that were male the last round but cant complain.
This beachdog i grew is different from everything else ive encountered from luckydog, super quick easy growing ,buds are like hand grenades ,really hashy, earth, bit.of pepper with a spin of chemdog ,ugly as sin but beyond potent, this is knock out weed
Right. I understand. I am, too haha, I just haven’t found it yet. And that goes for a lot more than the Lucky Dog stuff. I look, I move on to something else, I revisit… You know how it goes.
That one sounded good, bought a pack myself a few years ago, but I haven’t planted any yet. I dunno about those others you mentioned.
I wasn’t “blaming” my shitty M:F ratios on the breeder. Only an asshole would do that haha. It’s seeds. It’s luck of the draw. Sometimes you get good ratios and other times you don’t. It’s just been bizarre how bad my ratios have been for, like, the last dozen grows haha…
