One thing I will say is don’t leave them in the paper towel too long. 2 days is too long. They’re usually ready to get planted in under 24 hours. I’m doing some testing now with just putting them straight into soil and watering them in with the superthrive solution. Good luck brother.

Semi-Direct Sowing we will call it. Best wishes

Sometimes stubborn seeds can take up to two weeks to germinate. I sometimes leave them in paper towels for weeks. As long as you have sugar and hydrogen peroxide, keep them moist not wet and change the paper towels every two days everything is fine

Yes we do.

I use the wet paper towel germination method and manually crack any seed that doesn’t show life within about 36hrs or so. I recommend cracking for not just old seeds, but newer as well. Some genetics in particular have a tough shell and tend to need help breaking through.

I have not but anything that works is worth trying.
After attemting this on a new seed, i lack the thumb dexterity and strength, only dropping the slippery little seed several times.

@Bobgrows “Krakin” tool ^^^ or other controllable “screw press” like @breadwinner shows ^ looks like a great option.

I normally just pinch the seed w 2 fingrs and sand down the seed seam / seed ridge w 200-150 grit sandpaper.
