Mazar I sharif ( real seed company)

Right, not just one way maybe all ways at once kinda lol ok so if it all came from one seed, this came from that that came from that that came from that modern evolution theory, shouldn’t there be a ton of “sleeping” genes /genetic potential (if I’m using the term correctly) in every seed , and if that’s the case shouldn’t/could we be able to find many many different expressions? Especially the closer one gets to the tibetan plateau ? All that is really a question, and if so maybe ok so if a virus can manipulate DNA then maybe we just need soil to wake it up ? (Sleeping genes) Possible? Probable?

“Sleeping genes” could probably be activated by any change (sometimes none at all) in its environment. That’s one phenomenon that makes growing so interesting.

I have a friend who did a closed population with open pollination using world of seeds Columbian. It probably wasn’t a pure Columbian line and the plant adjusted after five generations in southern Oklahoma. It developed a terpen3 to repel grasshoppers and produced more bud each year.

Probably worth pointing out that clones & seeds are apples to oranges :sunglasses: & I suspect seeds throw genes around more … uh, during conception :joy: if the mood isn’t right.

A great analogy I remember is James Bean saying you don’t want the tweaker crack ho that smokes a pack a day to have your kids…you want that healthy one that does yoga & drinks chai & shit. truth

Hey all. My order from Real Seed Co. just landed. Finally got 5 each of the Syrian, Moroccan Ketama, Afghaan '90, and Tashkurgan. If you can see a theme here I’m on my Hash Plants RN.

I received some Nanda Devi as a Freebie, and would love to trade them for an indica landrace if anyone is interested. Mazar would be ideal, but any Kush landrace or Afghan or whatever. I really just don’t have room for a landrace Sativa, so I’d probably just send them if someone asks, but I’d love to fill in some of the gaps in my Indica collection.

Hope you’re doing a grow log  I’ve been real curious about the ketama and tashkurgan :eyes: I’m thinking of growing some nanda devi #1 this season, a little more wild than the #2, I’m real excited for it

Oh definitely. I don’t think anything will grow undocumented again now that I’m on here. I actually owe at least one person a detailed follow up because they graciously gave their crosses to be tested and I don’t want to just take the beans and run. I would say that most folks would do that, but being on here a couple of months I feel like most everyone on OG would follow through with a request if given free seeds.

My plans are to magnify my meager supply and hope that there’s magic in the 5-bean sample I received from Angus. I’ll try my best to do an open pollination scenario and thereby end up with a small gene pool with as much crossing as possible, then refine down to my favorites. All extra seed will be made available to the community. After all the love I’ve been shown I couldn’t hoard those in good conscience.

Sounds like you’ve got room to work with, have you ever tried a sativa landrace? I know you can get creative and pull clones off a mother plant straight into 12/12 but even then you are still talking about a tall plant. Definitely not saying this as a know-it-all, I’ve never even tried it, but I have some Nepali Sativas on long-term storage for when I can actually do them justice. Ditto on the grow log if you go for it with the Nanda Devi

Thankfully I have the the great outdoors on my side. The sky’s the limit - literally, haha. This will be my first time ever and I’m absolutely stoked. 2023’s gonna be one for the books :sunglasses::call_me_hand:

So are you going to do a open pollination of said mazar? Or what? Because if you was to I could send some just send me some back because I don’t have room to get to them this year anyways so? Ps it would be awesome in my book and would actually help me tremendously

The only “catch” to it is I would like at least 30-40 seed back  so if that’s no problem for you let me know so we can get this ball rolling

Whuuuuut?! Man, breaking open OG is like Xmas morning. I had this exact plan to ask of someone but with my massive Nepali Sativas. I know Mazar-i-sharif isn’t exactly small, but less stretchy at the very least. My only “catch” to throw back to you would be that I can’t start them until late May, but even that isn’t terribly long. I just wouldn’t want you to stress in the time it takes me to get set up.

Looks like we’ve got some common interests, Doctor. I was just in my hometown of Denver and was trying to think if I could add a seed run to the itinerary, but wasn’t able to make it. I didn’t think to try Colorado Sativas, but I think they are in Boulder maybe? That wouldn’t have worked either, but I really do want to go check out their operation. I am intrigued by the Chitrali as well, but if we’re doing pure open pollination, maybe we can use the Mazari as a test run and talk Chitrali in the future.

What is Bear Duck?

Cheers,

Alright, shit bro I’m game as long as I can get them back by next April I’m happy and if you want we can do it with the chitral too  I’m not petty bro or hard to work with  and really and truly as long as you can get me a grip of seed back (like 30-50) I don’t even need nothing else in trade or nothing like that I will be happy with just a seed increase nothing else in return to to be completely honest  PS oh and it a duck foot cross with gummy bear my buddy just gave them to me to try pss the mazar and others in the little white packs are from the real seed company btw
