Memory span of a Goldfish

The weed I been growing from you OgErs this forum is so strong. Lately I can’t remember what the hell I am doing for moar than thirty seconds! This can get dangerous in certain situation. I attribute this to pot plain and simple. All my fault! Although I have a tremendous amount of things on my mind that does not help. I still notice my memory slipping the better I get at producing powerful pot thanks to you all too great job. It is for sure a Double edge sword so I decided to start some supplements of fish oil, calcium and magnesium just like a plant gets. My memory is shot and any advice on how you keep your shit together day to day from anyone else dealing with this problem. I notice the supplements help. Still having serious memory problems as of late. Anyone else having these issues? Have a great day in the garden regardless.

I take Cal-mag-D, fish oil, and multi vitamin. It still affects me the same but, I don’t forget my name

do puzzles. learn chess. while brain games are not exact science, there is some/inconclusive evidence that it helps long term memory, but also stronger evidence that helps short term memory.

Yeah I notice my memory is like 8/10 sober but when I smoke it’s like 5-6/10. Sometimes I’m in the middle of doing something and I totally forget. Some strong stuff. I try to keep my time designated into 30-1hr increments aka a schedule. For example I always get up and eat breakfast around 8 on Friday-sun as I don’t work those days. Usually I take 30 min then I do chores for 30-1hr (more if I need to mop the floor). I usually eat every 3-4 hours etc. this way you’re not forgetting what to do. Surprisingly it’s harder to do my schedule high for figure but I always stick to the script most of the time.

Have a notebook by my side, and White boards in multiple places in the house, take screenshots constantly, and have like 50 tabs open on my browser

Here’s a sweet little article, I know it’s geared towards TBI, but it’s got ways to practice. Be warned, when you practice stuff like this, it WILL tire your brain out, so don’t get frustrated, just realize when you’ve gone far enough for the moment.

Actually, animal studies have revealed that stress alters ensuing synaptic plasticity and firing properties of hippocampal neurons. Structurally, human and animal studies have shown that stress changes neuronal morphology, suppresses neuronal proliferation, and reduces hippocampal volume.

This is my problem according to docs and phycologist. they are calling it caregiver dementia.

My first thought is see your doctor & make sure it’s not just the weed talking; it does affect mine but not too bad,(yet😅)

I cope with shot by using a big wall calendar and a white/dryerase board. Without those I’d be a lot less on the ball (scary thought):joy:

I don’t even remember anymore.
I gave up trying.
Stress is a big factor for me. When I am stressed, my mind goes to complete shit.
I make mistakes all the time, forget things all the time, foggy brain…
It is the way it goes for me. I just try my best to shrug it off. But, sometimes I forget to do that too.

I also agree that the strains that get passed around on OG are very potent. Sometimes they make me remember better though.
Perhaps due to stress relief after smoking/ingesting, my brain is more relaxed and can think. :slightly_smiling_face: :upside_down_face:

It does that :stuck_out_tongue:
But also paying attention to the “nutes” you put in the body, and posssibly more importantly what you keep out, exercising the brain and the body etc is always good.

Yeah i feel this. ADHD/OCD/BiPolar2 running on high-anxiety at near all times.

We are all forced to move too fast, react too fast and like Mario to just keep running, keep jumping as there is only suffering due to the nature of our everyday technologies. Our mental loads are running on high at all times from what I can tell + the stresses added by Covid really has done a world of damage.

I need to remind myself that anything I do comes with stress. Good or bad there is still stress and by accounting for it my memory got better and my anxiety (which I manage with cannabis) has evened out instead of spiking all the time for often little to no reason. An example of bad stress is easy to think of but the good stress is harder to conceptualize for some.

Examples of good stress could be “Going on vacation”.

We often just think about all the good from the time off work but then if there’s shit like travel problems, the costs involved, the management of home/pets/plants while away, unknown health factor variable (food, general illness), environmental factor (go to a beach for a week and it’s raining all that week), etc.

Since 39 years old I re-watch “City Slickers” and “City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly’s Gold” to reinforce all of this with a chuckle.

Prior to this state of mind I just ended up making sure I had Korean Red Ginseng on me at all times as that is brain lighting. Over the last few years I’ve found making a “Bulletproof Coffee” in the morning was even better (for me) than the Ginseng! I put in my cup a small pat of butter and MCT oil and then add the coffee (for me I pull my espresso over this mixture) and stir vigorously until it’s creamy.

I sip this and :boom: my :brain: is working again :100: % :+1:

My most recent variation to the drink is adding hemp seed oil (for the omega 3/6) and “top-dress” it with a few drops of my UK Cheese oil :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Vitamins, study and exercise, I’ll forget names, faces and appointments all day everyday but useful or academically interesting stuff my brain holds onto that.

I must have face blindness because I don’t know the names of any of my neighbours. Not a single one. I know their dogs though.

Other than that my memory is fucked because I don’t sleep. Remember that day in July…well I just remember July as one single day.

That’s what I’m talkin’ about! You will also find your wake&bake lasting longer and longer. It’s a beautiful thing. I just lower my expectations for myself and roll another brother! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::sunglasses:

I have actually played around a little with this. I take the same as you @G-paS . I notice I get more of those stop and think moments when I use more CBD in strains than less CBD in strains. Hmm things than make hmmmm I actually think it’s more CBD related than THC for me anyways. Maybe someone else can test this also.

Salt and sugar. Salt is the single most important nutrient. Salt also elevates mood reducing stress and promotes healthy cognition. Suger is also important, great mood elevator. Eat a heaping tablespoon of cake icing…great for mood and stress relief.

I find that certain varieties of weed -mostly poly-hybrids - can effect my mind poorly. So I have gotten really fussy about I will smoke. Aiming for high not stoned…

I recommend Tom Kenyon’s Ultimate Brain CD pack - to increase neuro-plasticity and overall brain function.
