Oh yes I just learned how to upload pics
A buddy of mine grew out the Goroka PNG in Puna with great success.
They handled the rains very well. Here’s a few pics of his PNG in Puna, Hawaii.
Nice bud. Yea man Im now learning for outdoor landraces are the way to go. I used to want to grow the biggest fanciest bud now that all means nothing if I can’t use them. PNG I’m going to check that out bro
Thank you @Azure very nice to see what’s expected.
The mainlander in me is screaming “HASHPLANT!”
I added Goroka to my weather app last year and the weather is always the same. Thunderstorms and rain every time I check.
Also check out Mauritius and La Reunion(Zamal)
La Reunion gets the most rainfall on earth and has amazing cannabis.
French Touch seeds sells Zamal lines.
Vibes/USC also did Double Zamal, which is Mauritius x Zamal
I have some Zamal 3DWA - french for 3 fingers (leaves)
Have to grow them out sooner or later…
Looks fire
Mt zion sent me some zamal and others too try I’m excited
Zamal is the one that gets mentioned to me the most
La Reunion Island, where Zamal is from, is the raniest, wettest place in the world.
Its one reason a lot of people have been using Zamal in the past decade.
A lot of the African tropical landraces will do well in Hawaii as others have said in the thread. I would also recommend Himalayan hash cultivars and South / Southeast Asian ganja cultivars as a lot of them are from wet climates so they have a more airy foxtail bud structure that prevents mold, but still decent resin production.
I’m in a cold wet climate so a little different from Hawaii, but I am always on the lookout for strains with good mold resistance. You might want to look into the Lao Highland, Filipino Kibungan, Kullu Valley, and Rasol from Khalifa Genetics or the Himalayan / S/SE Asian selections from Indian Landrace Exchange / Real Seed Company if you’re still looking for seed sources. I’ll also be making a slate of hybrids with some Filipino Kibungan males that will be ready by December if you’d be interested in testing out some of the seeds.
