Cool man, thanks for thinking of documenting an IBL project on the OG, this is the kinda stuff I really like. and a great choice by the looks and sounds of it. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on how your efforts go for sure.

Congratulations on OG
What technique did you choose for work?
It will be “cubing” inverse bins …?
Did you try to make S1?

Welcome @Electric-Stoner u have my attention. I’ve been eyeing the mother of berries strain for a while myself. There’s a breeder called TH seeds with these seeds I read somewhere once about a grow report on these and have been dying to try ever since. The first thing I ever read about them years ago also said they were from New England namely somewhere around Boston area.

@Electric-Stoner nice. I’ll be following along here. What part of NE are you in? I’m in southeastern, near the coast.

I’ve made S1’s and there wasn’t much uniformity or even a high ratio of the representation of the MOB cut. In the future I may make some S2’s but for now I’ve outcrossed her to a male hunted from early 2000’s Blueberry which was worked to F9 by Green Wolfe Seeds (ohwolfie1984) and Mystic Funk. I chose the male that was closest to MOB in Finishing Time, Floral Structure, Overall Structure (including root structure) and aroma. The male was hunted out of about 30 BB F9 beans. The progeny is pretty uniform and about 80% of the progeny resembles mom, with increased branching. No sexual instability. Im going 2 routes. I’m going to cube back to the MOB from the F1 progeny but I’m also going to F2 the outcross and see how much that opens up the line and see if there’s anything with a closer representation of Mom than in the F1’s and cube from the F2. I plan on working both lines simultaneously and the closest to the MOB at the end will make the cut… it all depends on where it takes me. This could also go down the path of having to make multiple forward filial crosses after cubing if I still don’t get to the goal I’ve set

a very ambitious project if so!
several lines at the same time, this is thousands of man-hours.
I sincerely wish you success!
from how many plants can you/plan to make a selection?

It will be done in pieces. And yes this project has probably 4-5yrs till completion if I’m lucky. I’m sure I’ll have a good amount of failure along the was as is par for the course :call_me_hand:

With my current testing space, I can hunt about 40-50 at a time. Also have a few local growers running different setups that have dedicated space along with a handful of reliable growmies/testers that aren’t local to me.

I grew MOB s1 from bob_bitchin a few years back and it was pretty rad.

Thanks for bringing MOB to seed form. Lots of work, but so cool.
