I’m having my first cup of coffee, todays gonna be a long day, I just realized the last local hydro store remaining open in my town shut down earlier this month, so I don’t have any idea where to get anything near me without waiting on shipping now I’m on a hunt… I need some coco…
That looks like my kinda coffee! Nice and dark! Hopefully your search isn’t too exhaustive. It’s crazy there’s not a single one left…. Sign of the times I guess. I can’t see my local ones lasting another 5 years if they don’t drastically step up their game. Stuff online is like 2/3 the price sometimes 1/2 it’s crazy! And in today’s society I can’t afford to pay more for stuff so I have to be that guy. Hate it. I always supported local and those who supported me but it’s just not pheasible anymore sadly
It’s for that same reason I have cut out so much stuff that I used to love eating and such just to save a little money where I can, always trying to find the cheapest gas, anything helps really
This is the stuff I use. It is clean. No gnats or salt. Amazon has same day or overnight delivery here. Not sure about where you are. Might have to do it this time and next time can go local.
The second picture is also a very nice looking plant, but a little sensitive to N as a couple do have a slight degree of nitrogen toxicity, that damn claw look on the leaf tips, I guess I top dressed a little too soon/aggresively, but nothing I’m too worried about at this point.
I also topped 9/11 of the Dreadbread seedlings today as you see in the second picture.
I held off on topping 2 that are much more stout than their siblings
See I’m all about supporting local business but been having this issue my favorite hydro store closed down a few years back closest one is about a half hour away and has a mark up compared to online on about 80 percent of its products can’t really justify spending the hour in commute and paying more when I can get it shipped to my door for cheaper
It’s such a pita , I wanna do right/good and support local as well as keep the b&ms open as I love going in and shooting the shit, giving advice etc. its part of the culture to me. But if I gotta drive 25 mins each way, then pay an exorbitant markup…… not
Been a bit since I updated this thread so here’s a picture!
Here’s the Dreadbread F1’s this morning, I topped all of them recently, and stripped a crap load of fan leaves that were shading lowers and touching neighbor plants most of them seemed not to mind too much
A few definitely seem more squat and OMG leaning with rounder leaves and thicker stems
And a few seem lankier with medium too smaller leaves and much more viney lateral branches too.
Love the smells I’m getting, kind of like a tropical fruit funk initially, then almost a funky cheesy almost skunky undertones kind of “beneath” the tropical mango type stank!
Flipping soon, probably in a few days to a week at most…
